Finally got my 90" today, third try after two damaged ones from shipping. Also finally got two working Denon AVR-4520s after going through 5 of them, and now waiting on my second 80" LC-80LE857U after the first was damaged in shipping also. The smaller TV in the upper left is a 60" Vizio.

very nice.

hey what kind of stand is that. Like how low it is
post #1093 of 1357
The stand is a Pinnacle Design's TV8292 that is 17.5" tall which I previously used for my 92" DLP. The only issue with it is it places the center channel off to either the right or left side due to the support directly in the middle of the stand, but it is really not that noticeable.

Is there no new 90" sharp TV coming out this year?

It's amazing just how big of a difference there is. On its own, the 60" is a decent size screen. Next to the 90", it looks rather puny. smile.gif

The other day i bought a 60" from walmart, the wife said it was too big.

Last night I showed her the picture overtkill posted, she almost fell off the couch LOL

My main concern regarding the tv is, other than the price, is how in the world will i take it down the stairs to the basement, I don't think I have enough clearance to do it...

How is the 3D performance? how does IR compare to BT in the new Sharps? In terms of off-center viewing...

I've had my 90" for about a week and an half.

It has exceeded my expectations. Off center viewing is pretty good and much better than the old RPTV I had.

I played with 3D for about 15 minutes on a comcast feed. I thought it was very good. Surprised me.

My feed is cable from Comcast.....

I'm happy so far.

I got it up a flight of stairs and it cleared fine.

I think you should count your incredible purchase as part of the "royalty" for everyone that has been using your settings.

Now I think you have a responsibility to post your newest settings when you have the 90" fully calibrated.

It's sad that Dreux is not a 90" owner any longer, but he can give us a heads up on how the 4K set is. I'm sure that's the next step for us all.

In the mean time, enjoy the set.

I'll try and post some pictures this weekend.

Jack

Jack, on the 4K sets I think the second generation is worth waiting for (of course I didn't). The next generation should have display ports and hopefully HDMI 2.0. that will support a higher frame rate. But the 4K sets do an excellent job on up-scaling 1080p, Samsung being the best and LG being the most affordable. The LG does an excellent job on up scaling. At least the LG prices continue to drop. Sony price hasn't dropped at all as far as I know..

Netflix says they will stream 2160p in the next couple of years. No word on a media player/2160p disc player yet other than the Sony one.. But I am hoping the Sony 4K 55" and 65" sell well and content will be made more available. Right now there are 4k mastered blu-rays out but the will play on blu-ray players.

I bet Suzook will have some excellent settings to share when he gets his set.

Info on the future on 4K

So everything was looking good on my 90 as I spent most of my time looking for a nice even black screen uniformity which was just about perfect... but after looking at light/white backgrounds there appears to be a large half circle shadow arch on the left side of the screen.

Does anyone else notice anything similar on their screens?

hey all. well finally got the beast mounted. I am here to say dreaux was right all along. The pq of the 90 is absolutely advanced over the 80 inch series. And this is without even doing a proper calibration and just plugging in my posted settings
Life of Pi was absolutely mind blowing on this set. Avatar took on a whole new look for new. I havent yet played much with the darbee but I will soon. Only down side is I watch a lot of Vudu and will have to stream vias a ps3 rather than with the set to see any effect.

This tv satisfies me in every way...........AND THE SIZE.........
