Yes asking price was full MSRP. Sorry my camera is in the shop for repairs and not available for pics for three more weeks. By then someone else will have them posted.

Yes I too was surprised to see this beast in store this soon. I did see from a recent post that an on-line guy had three for sale at list. (I believe with no shipping or tax)

Can you please do me a favor and measure the size of just the stand the set comes with?

Well, I rescind my previous statement....my store put this behemoth up today. Looks really, really good. This thing is MASSIVE. Uniformity was very good, although I noticed it was a bit brighter in the lower right portion of the panel - still had more even backlight distribution than some of the full-array 70-inchers from 2011. Looked very good playing BD content and decent on HD satellite broadcasts in Movie mode. I actually found the image it produced slightly preferable to our display 80LE844. I watched it for about fifteen minutes and couldn't notice any banding either. Didn't check out any 3D. The Bezel is also really nice brushed metal. looks a lot better than the cheap high gloss black plastic on the 80 632/844.

unless of course your best buy who seems to have plenty at least in stores My absolute bet is these will drop in price fast because its not enough of a PQ or performance jump over the 844 to justify the extra 10 inches.

but thats just my humble opinion.

If you guys have next to no margin... we are far from an interresting deal up here in Canada!

As big as this display is it's not worth 10k in my book... no local dimming, no 4k, image processing probably not sa good as Elite's...

Various Magnolia home theater locations have them on display with general availability in about 10 days.

90inch Sharp with local dimming (Elite?) must be on its way? At InfoComm 2012 Sharp showed off the 90inch Professional LED display yesterday and said it has local dimming and it is due to hit the market the first quarter of 2013. Here is a video:

Professional simply means it's targeted at Business, Education, Govt for professional presentation uses and trade shows or airports, et al.. Cost is usually higher on professional displays and targeted for Professional Use rather thahn general consumer. However, it's extremely likely a Consumer version(s) will find their way to market.

I saw the same setup at my local magnolia. It's amazing the difference 10 inches makes. Also the bezel and overall build quality of the 90 seems way superior to the 80 844. I was going to buy the 844 until I saw the 90 today. Just having a hard time justifying the price gap. I could put 2 of the 80's side by side on my wall for less money!

Yes, and it's not as shiny and plastic looking.

Remember, BB's actual cost is just over $6400 so THERE IS margin at BB for negotiation.

What was the BB's cost for 844u? Only way I would consider buying 90" would be if I redo my entertainment center to accommodate this size. I could see my self wanting to replace my front projector in my dedicated theater room but size would have to be much bigger (closer to 130") and price also much better.

For those who are in position to purchase this, would love to hear how the PQ compares to other Sharp models.

Well for one I doubt screen sizes in led will eclipse 90 anytime soon. Second iif they did the cost would be astronomical.
Bob cost was somewhere around $3700 when my friend checked at the beginning of the year. That number may have dropped with time and larger inventory
