It's not directly comparable, of course, but I remember well the thrill of going from a 42" to a 52" some years ago. Huge difference.

Also, when you add 37% to the cost of a $5k 80" screen, you arrive at $6850, so the Sharp 90" having an expected street price of around $7k means Sharp's pricing is pretty much consistent in terms of screen area per dollar as you scale up. You also have to factor the overhead of it being a new panel with much lower yield and units produced at the fab than the 80" panels.
