Member with Zero feedback.....

Buyer beware. (10 bids so far)
you can bet this is the same person who had a minus 2 rating the last time when they had the same auction.
He will also need to take it off the wall, put it back in the box, i highly doubt it will be undamaged... Wonder if he even saved the original box...
Awful big investment to being taking such a chance.
It appears that the reserve was possibly not met, and it has been relisted.
I couldn't see what the last bidding got up to ...... even by clicking on "See original listing".

I agree that the zero feedback is something to be concerned with, but it is "eBay buyer protection" covered.
That, and using a CC (that also has buyer protection) and going through PayPal, along with the right answers to some questions, might get somebody a good deal.

But yeah ......... it does look pretty iffy with the feedback.

I'd be tempted if ...... I didn't have mine yet, he has all the original packing material, would have it properly re-strapped (not just taped up) his reserve was low enough to get it at under ...... say $4 to 5K delivered insured for the total, my CC had good back-up, the comms between us were conceivable, 'and' I could be absolutely sure my wife 'would' divorce me if it all blows up (I'm old and really wouldn't want to spend my final time before my last "trip to glory" hearing daily about the time I get "took good" on eBay!!). wink.gif

Hey Chris ,
How come the LC-90LE745U specs sheet on your website lists this model as a Edge lighted LED ?
Did you know that ?
I found it when I was checking out your website & felt that you must not know that you had a error there . smile.gif
seems that the 1st marketing copy outta Sharp is always suspect & maybe someone cut & pasted the wrong info ?

I'm sitting on my 632 80" until a better 90" shows up even if it's not till 2014 , I got this rig pretty well dialed in , I'm upgrading the 9 speakers right now , custom horns , high end compression drivers & custom cross-overs while I wait smile.gif

my concern...sharp wont be around in 2014 to have a "better" 90.

The 4k fluff is just that. Tv makers are insane with the high price points.

Sharp as a Display maker isn't going anywhere , I see them selling off their other product money losing lines & concentrating on display screens with Apple & Sammy investing in them . So Sammy & Apple will have display screens made for them by Sharp
Panny is saying they are gonna quit making Plasma next & Pio is Long Gone ,
Sharp has the newest automation in their MFGing plants for LCD's screens , so they can pump out the huge displays at a lower mass production costs than anyone .

90" moth-eye & the new screen smaller LCD grid arrays that allow more light to pass thru ( meaning more Pop & Sharpness to the PQ ) that's gonna be a Nice display in 2014

I don't think you will regret it. I was only going to get one for another family room of my home (I already have 2- 80's) but when an unexpected income came in and a friend offered to buy the 2 -80's at a good price - I had a setup for a perfect storm - I bought 3!!!

Initial observations - after applying the professional calibration settings that I was using on the 80's - to me the pictures are idential - just larger. I am very pleased with the fit/finish and the 1" brushed aluminum bezel (as opposed to the 1 3/4" plastic bezel on the 80"s). After watching an evening of pre-recorded favorite shows last night (and remembering the color/brightness characteristcs of these shows from prior episodes) I found them to show no difference, or, if anything, a little better (the professional calibrations had the quattron turned off and the refresh set at 120 Hz).

If you put the sets in the same location they do not look that much larger - they are only about 2" higher and 2" lower in the vertial dimension and 3.5" wider on each side in the horizontal dimention - thanks in part due to the bezel losing 3/4 inch - so the set would take up 1 1/2": more in vertical and horizontal space if it were the same bezel as on the 80's. The third location - another family room - where I had a 55" set built into a wall of built-in cabinets, nooks etc looks absolutely gigantic. The TV is suspended in front of the builtins with a Chief PDRUB articulating arm mount hidden in the cabinet where the other TV was. If you look back and forth between that setup and the other 90" in the living room (open floor plan - you can see both TV's by just turning your head) you would swear that the one in the family room is twice as large as the other TV - just an optical illusion but interesting.

Now, for the shocker about where I purchased these - ECTV's - sure, I had my misgivings but I figured putting them on credit card gave me a level of protection. I found that if you played their "game" and went ahead and bought extended warranties (MACK) and got the "white glove service" + insurance they tack on they would take care of me and get me the sets on time and in good condition. Well, they arrived 7 days after I placed the order (Linden, New Jersey to Florida). The company they used was AM Home Delivery and they advertise themselves about "white glove delivery service" I called them to make sure exactly what that meant and they "delivered" on their statement - brought all 3 sets into the house and placed them in the rooms where they were going - unboxed them, plugged them in, went through the intial setup menu and waited while I plugged in HDMI cables and watched some local HD TV - the sets were kept in their boxes but I could see the very bottom of the screen. As an aside, the shipping containers for these 90's is much better than the 80" - not only is it thicker with more styrofoam around the top and bottom but the bottom of the box is strapped to a 6" wooden pallet - I would bet that if Sharp used this setup for the 80's there would not be all the cracked LCD screens we have seen (I had one of those on a previous 80" delivery).

After registering each set with Aquos Advantage I found the 3 year warranty offered by Sharp was the same price as the MACK warranty. With the white glove and insurance charges my cost/unit was stll very good - but since no price talk I won't go into exact amounts.

I do have one problem with one of the 3 units - I didn't notice this until later but don't think I would have refused delivery on the unit since this is an obvious manufacturing defect - there are two narrow green lines extending from the top of the display to the bottom - this is a faulty panel/circuit board problem and the tech I talked with at Sharp said the unit will be probably replaced by them - I had to do the usual hard reboot and send in multiple pictures of the screen and am awaiting their official reply. Actually when you sit 10-12' back from the screen you really can't see the lines but it sounds like Sharp will replace the unit.

Of course, my 3 boys are in "video game heaven" to put it mildly!!

Congrats on the blessings from the "Holy Trinity"!! wink.gif

I agree it is wiser to pay for a delivery that provides a power-on check before you sign for the TV.
IMHO it's just money well spent.

FWIMBW: I found that the 3 Active semi-hard zipper cases for 3D glasses will fit the AN3DG20B glasses nicely if you set them in so the widest part of the glasses (where they hinge) is on the zipper line. The lenses don't hit the sides and they are held staionary even when shaken.
They're available from Amazon for under $10, and offer better protection, as well as being easier to see (so you don't end up sitting on them) than what the the bag that the gasses come with offer, and are easier to get the glasses in an out of without smudging the lenses.

As others have said to me ........ "Welcome to the 90 club!"

Jeez he stole the pictures I posted on this thread, those are the pictures I took with my camera. Looks like he has been here. What a creep.

I pity the person who was the highest bidder. Who would spend that kind of money from a seller with a 0 rating.

well it's too late for that the auction is just ending now ...
I did contact eBay reporting a problem. Told them he was selling a set that were not pictures taken off the set for sale, that he used my pics.
Misrepresenting the item he was selling on eBay.
That is amazing that this person does that on E-Bay. I wonder if he is actually getting away with it, or if Pay Pal is loosing there buns ?

Well, I will fix it, however, a back lit unit has "just about " the same picture quality as a edge lit unit. It is a play on words. If it does not say Back lit with local dimming, it is not local dimming.

What a POS I remember seeing those pics. I guess as long as the buyer is protected they should be ok in the end. man that's a nice chunk of change to reimburse.
