I had an old Integra Receiver (pre HDM - the video went direct to the TV and then audio out to the receiverI) and just replaced it with the Onkyo and I swear I see a picture difference - can't totally define it but the colors look deeper and the entire PQ seems to pop. I haven't done any tweaking of the picture with the different parameters on the Onkyo. It looks like the HQV Vida and Marvell Qdeo Processing make a difference. The TV itself does have professional calibration parameters.
I've been talkin' this up along , no believed me
That's what happens with my 80" 632 with a ONK 1009 same vid dual processor set-up as the 1010 I run the Onk to up-process to 1080P on everything & I do mean everything & my PQ is Fantastic , BR, HTPC , utube /Hulu /Amazon Prime streaming, DirecTV , Regular DVD's across the board ......
The only thing i get now is some compression noise the looks like clouding in dark back grounds on certain shows on DirecTV (NCIS for 1 , mainly CBS shows but only just a few ) that's it . Even SD DVD's look Sharp/clean ,not BR PQ but damn nicer than SD on such a big display
I get no lag on my PC (desk top is razor sharp & clear) with my mouse either , I don't game so I can't address that , but mouse work is as if I was at my desk with a wireless trackball
Audio lip sync barely ever off & only on like PBS low quality shows , some times just restarting the 1009 & that goes away as well
ALL this from a 1009, I had a TX-NR5008 & the PQ is drop dead noticeable with the 1009 vs that Near 3K 5008 . . . the 1009 I got for $800 new from Vann's
deep color more vibrant & contrast pops using SuZooks settings
the Nightly news programs across the board ( ABC,CBS NBC) just sparkleEdited by Fastslappy - 4/13/13 at 6:01pm
