Precision Acoustics Classic 5.1 set at Best Buy REVIEW

I got this set from Best Buy today at about 70% off retail - 399$ for the kit. It consists of :
Classic 66T towers (2x6.5", 1" tweet), Classic 24C center (2x4", 1" tweet), Classic 150S sub (12" 150W), Classic 4B rears (4" and 1" tweet). After hooking up everything to a Pioneer 921, I turned them on. Watching my Bell HD sat, the towers and center sounded decent. These are poly cone speakers, and cheap wiring on the inside. The cabinets are decently made and look nice. Listening to music was decent as well. I must say, the sub is pretty bad. It is light in weight. The amp is very weak, not even close to what you would expect from a 150 watt rating. It cannot push the driver, which can take much more. Considering I got the whole set for what the sub retails for alone, it was a decent deal for a setup for upstairs (wife and kids). They look nice, and are efficient enough to make some volume from the Pioneer 921, which isnt all that strong amp-wise. These sets sold out online almost instantly here in Canada, so I guess I wasnt the only one who jumped!

There seems to be some stock in Windsor and London still. I have been watching a few movies on this system, and it sounds pretty good, especially for $399. The only complain I have is the amp in the sub is very cheap, but it can fill out the range if you dont require high volume.

I was suspicious that I got a bad sub, so I went back to the store to listen to the floor model. It seemed to have more output, so I swapped mine for a new one off the shelf. The one I got home buzzed right out of the box, no matter the outlet, without any inputs plugged in. The board is bad. At low volumes there was audible distortion. This is sub #2 out of 3 they had that is bad. Ill get the last one tomorrow. If it is bad as well, I may just return the whole thing, or see what kind of deal they will cut me on a sub that works should they have no more of these coming in.

On the third sub. The bottom line is, do not buy this sub. The towers, center and rears are decent, but the sub is gutless. It has a very cheap amp and driver in it and the quality is very very low. My little 8" 50 watt polk blows the doors off this 12" 150 watt.
