My Mark Audio and Anarchy

I was unhappy with the Anarchy tapped horns I built so I wanted to use the drivers in another project. What I did was use them as a bottom helper for a Mark Audio Alair7.3 by putting them in a 0.5ft^3 cab ported to ~44hz. I am currently low passing them at 300hz using a miniDSP. The A7.3 is in a 0.25ft^3 sealed PE box. This set up sounds absolutely fantastic to me. The Mark Audio Alpair7.3 is really an amazing driver and the Anarchy fills in the bottom octaves like a champ. I used REW to take the measurments and calculate the biquad filters. Using the miniDSP and REW together is super fun and easy. Disregard the scale on the initial measurment graph because I had the spl meter calibrated wrong. I have also flipped the bas so the drivers are closer together. The red trace on the bottom graph is my current settings from the listening position. Anyone else doing something like this?

Awesome. I've toyed with this idea lots. In the middle of building something like that just now.

The a7 is a superb full range driver. Much nicer than most full rangers, especially metal ones.

I have played with a good number of wide band drivers and none have been as satisfying as these.

Any chance you have an unfiltered response for the alp7? Properly gated no smoothing. Or if you could email me the file.

I am just getting started with the measurement thing. I don't know a lot of this stuff. I have an unfiltered I smoothed plot Of the A7 I can post. Again, my technique is quite Noobish but I am getting better.
I am looking to take some better controlled measurements. I am not 100% clear on what you mean by properly gated.

If you email me the file I can gate it.

You use the impulse window. It takes some reading to learn.

I will send a file out in a few days when I get home. Thanks for the help.

Ok, I got it. Do you gate based on mic distance?

Sweet build, i miss my two channel rig.

You hate based on reflection distance/time. Try 3ms to start.

Thanks for the files.

Here's the same measurement with a 2.7ms gate.

What high pass did you use?? I know you said 300hz, but what type?
