In ceiling speakers?

I'm doing some remodeling in my living room and since space is somewhat small I'm thinking about in ceiling speakers. I'm not an audiophile but I appreciate good quality. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I'd like to get a decent set of in ceiling speakers for surround sound. It's a small room and a small house so I'm trying to get the most out of the space.

What do you guys recommend for in ceiling speakers? I'm cheap, but for something that's not easy to replace I want to be sure I have good quality as I'm always listening to music, and will also use for movies and such (surround sound/5.1). What can I expect to be good quality, to my ears that are used to listening to large old 3 way floor speakers?

Monoprice might fit the bill for you. The front stage should be in-wall so the tweeters are at ear height though.

I would do in-wall or on-wall, for the front stage. For surrounds >
Snell is a good option.

The problem with in wall is that the front speakers would be against a staircase... So one side would be on/in the stairs down to the basement and the other farther back on/in the wall of the far side of the staircase (2'-3' farther away, with stairs blocking sound on one side). I'm not sure this would work well?

Alternatives area in ceiling or regular floor speakers. Floor speakers would not be able to be spaced as far apart, due to requiring access to stairs. Or other options?

Thanks for the recommendation of Snell. If they're alright quality that's around what I was hoping to spend. How do they mount? Do they clamp on to drywall like old work boxes? Or are there braces I mount to the joists? Is there a preferable way to mount them?

This is the owners manual - AMC 650, is the same type speaker.
