I have a 7.1 aswell and do a 5.2 also. I would go for the extra sub, the price is right.

Ok...so I will go 5.2 that is fine by me and what im used to anyways....so should I jump on two of the outlaw subs for $1k or spend the $1k on 1 sub (LOL for me $1k on a subwoofer is just insane!!!) BUT I do want a kick ass system.

As far as selling off 4 of my speakers as someone said above sell 1 pair of the towers and then the 800 series bookshelves....selling those will give me money for the subs or sub.

so Id have my onkyo806
714v towers
700 center
and 705v rear bookshelves
_____ sub(s)

sounds good to me...is that the best way to lay it out?

Thanks again everyone for the help.

^^^

if you want a "kick ass" system, you'll have to change your definition of "insane"...

especially when it comes to subs...

Two subs are always recommend, unless you go with a big ID sub. There is also a dedicated Outlaw thread in the Subwoofer forum. Feel free to ask away.

At the risk of being redundant, those subs need to go. For your budget- Outlaw.

Yea the polk and klipsch subs are for sure going to be sold and so are 1 pair of the 714v towers as well as the 806v bookshelves if that sounds like the best plan.

I think this to be a nice upgrade solution so long as you buy a pair of nice subs to go along with it.

It's a tough call regarding whether you should purchase a single $1000 sub or duals. I suppose the outlaw subs are a great bang/buck at that price, so that deal is tough to ignore. At the same time... it's tough to ignore the performance of a sub such as the HSU vented 15"er or the vented CHT 18" subwoofer. Maybe start a new thread to get good feedback...

That's a good and sensible plan. Maybe you will be blown away by the single outlaw.
