cracking noise from bass speaker

I have an active PA speaker that I have used for over a year now, recently I noticed after I have been playing loud music for a bit (or the amp has warmed up) the bass speaker start to crackle with every beat. I literally have to turn down the bass volume to get rid of the noise.
I tried replacing the speaker thinking I blew it, but its the same problem, it works initially then after it warms up it start cracking noise again.

What can be the problem? I have some soldering experience, is there a new part I need for the amp?

What kind of equipment is the speaker being run off of?

We need more info. Model of amp and speaker would help. What kind of scenario is this system being used in ?

Another thing to keep in mind is tone controls (bass/treble) should not be used when turning up a system. This can easily blow a speaker whether its a tweeter or woofer. That's what this scenario sounds like.
