Show Us Your Concealed LCD screen setup!

I have a multi-use family room that I need to install a modest 46" LCD with speakers. Only catch it must be concealed when not in use to satisfy the home design supervisor. She does not want to see a black screen 'taking the life out of the room'.

Anyone have a photos or ideas that will not cost more than a few K?

Thanks!

I don't have any photos but I've seen a great creston system that lowered a large oil painting complete with frame over a 60" plasma screen in one of the show homes across the street (home builder was Birkholz of Edmonton in the SW side).

Cheers

I have seen some "one-way mirrors" covering the screen.

I have seen the mirror as well.

To be honest. As budget as it gets for hiding a screen. Curtains? Or if you could put in a cut in your wall to flush mount the tv, you could just put a painting over it and manually remove the painting if you needed to use the TV.

Yes there are motorized systems, and some very cool "tricks". But at a certain $ it sorta starts to get to the point where is it worth it.. My .02 though.

You can also use a lift system to have it rise out of a credenza. Lots of folks sell these lift systems, mostly for bedroom use.

Several companies make frames/mounts with retractable art.

Seriously thought about this and priced one from a company that looked good on the website. I have a problem with buying what amounts to a piece of furniture sight unseen, with no return options. Also, the AV space in these cabinets seems quite limited.

Yes, I am thinking about this one. Anybody have any experience with this company or similar? Downside I could see would be viewing in a frame that is not adjustable for angles. On the other hand it would go well with the room. I have an antique cabinet that I am modifying to hold the av gear. Goal is to walk into the room and not notice the technology.
