Projector and screen shopping

I would like to get a 120-130 inch picture out of my projector. I can do anything to the room to make it fit the needs of the projector and screen. I have been doing some research and it seems that DLP is the way to go but I am not opposed to LCD or anything else. I would like to go 2.35 one day but 16:9 will do for now. I have a budget of about 3k for the projector and screen. Also i can mount the projector as needed.

Do you want 3D or gaming?

I would say go for the Benq w7000 or Sony hw30 if you do gaming, if not maybe go for the JVC RS-45.

Sorry I knew I forgot something. This will be for HT. I want a good 2D projector and the 3D will be secondary as I dont own any 3D movies. Also can you recommend and good screen to go with the projectors you recommend. Thanks

Given the budget and screen, I would go with a Benq w7000 and pair it with a DA-Lite high Power screen, you will probably need an ND filter to tame the brightness at first. This will maximize longevity of the lamp.

The other options are out of your budget for both screen + PJ.

Are you sure you and anyone else who will be exposed to the projector is not RBE / rainbow sensitive?

Most of the time RBE is subtitle but for some it could be bothersome.

If you're not sure and you decide to get a DLP, make sure you get one that has a good return policy.
