But, these things appear on any display that can resolve the pixels correctly. Part of the issue is that the VT50 does this well, and then it's a big TV (even the 55"), so individual pixels are big.

Something that might be the TV (or the calibration) are larger-than-a-couple-pixel areas of uniform non-linearity. By that, I mean 1/2" to 2" blocks that don't blend gradually into the next block. If the picture isn't otherwise low resolution, it's almost certainly calibration.

I've been scanning this thread but I can't seem to find the link to the always mentioned slides and initial procedures for this unit...I'd be interested in seeing it to see what I could do while I wait. I'll post pictures when everything is up and running...I think things are going to look awesome!

I think they are 6 FT. They use a standard detachable power cord. You could buy a longer after market cord, just don't get a cheap one though. You want to make sure it is at the very least, the same gauge wire.

If you want an HR24, simply call and say the box keeps malfunctioning and you have tried all the resets and such. Or just tell them you want new hardware or you will leave. They are super easy to deal with. Call and if you dont like the tone of the person on the line, hang up and call right back unitl you get a nice person. It is very easy and never fails. They will send out a replacement and I do not think they are sending out anything older than HR24's now.

FYI The lag you speak of is gone. It was very bad but they upgraded all software on at least the HR24's and up and the lag is gone and the guides are very sharp.
