The TV is either a passive, or it's an active 3D design. Passive shows the left and right views at the same time, only on alternating lines. Active shows all lines for the left, then all lines for the right, alternating very quickly requiring glasses that can sort this out and display it to your eyes correctly.
The 2012 Panasonic Plasma's are all active technology, and require the active 3D glasses.
The 2012 models also require the RF (Radio Frequency), also known as Blue Tooth, glasses. Last years models used the IR (Infrared) glasses.
