Considering that most people complain or don't care about 3D, I can see why Panasonic chose not to include any glasses. Also keep in mind that Panasonic lowered the MSRP of the VT50s before release. Packing in glasses would add to the cost. I have a pair of the new Samsung glasses and they sync find but are not built nearly as well as the Panny ones.

I've never run any slides on my two previous Samsung PDPs. Played games from day one and never looked back. I'm having my 65VT50 calibrated by Jeff in June.

While I think that some of the posts joking about putting black trim along the edge are funny, I am honestly curious to see someone try this and post photos of their results

Imo the silver gives the screen a sort of distinctive look. I'm used to see an artificial border around the screen, coming from an ancient philips. The border around that one is atleast 15x bigger then the one around the VT50

Nice built in stand. You ever consider putting the center channel where the receiver is?

Thanks

I originally had it there. It was to difficult to bring all the HDMI cables to that bottom center shelf not to mention where my electrical plugs are located.

I don't know yet. I'm running 100 hours of slides just in case D-nice shares his custom setting. I'll report back Saturday night when I finally get to watch it.

I have to tell you all. I was unsure about the bezel on the VT50 based on the photos I've seen, but after seeing it in person I really like it a lot.

I'm waiting on Thursday, too. You'd think after all this waiting, another day and a half wouldn't be so excruciating.

Many folks have been trying to get your message across for at least five years. It's like the rumor game, good stuff in, crap out.

The Dark Knight (BD)

The light from the shades actually looks a lot worse than it is in the pictures.

Some detail shots on the set would be more useful but the room i'm in is pretty dim.

Please tell me that the red LED can be disabled. I do not remember that on my VT30 and my VT 50 will be here in an hour or so. That LED is super noticeable. Pic looks great though

ding ding ding.. we have a winner... That's exactly what I'm thinking, if I won't like the silver trim or it will be to obtrusive during the day I will just place black vinyl around it and be done with it.

I believe the operating costs are very high for European models, so you may not be able to afford the Blu-Rays.

Nope, I don't believe it can be disabled. I haven't tried to disable it but it couldn't be turned off on my last Panasonic. I'm pretty sure the VT30 had it too.

Man, aren't you done running your slides yet? It's been over a day...

Ok, yeah, I know 100 hours is a few days, but the wait on a report of the VT50 picture is killing us over here, so it must be hurting you worse.

As for the bezel, we've had this discussion before, but people should really wait to see the bezel in their living room before they pass judgement. Most like you seem to think it isn't bad, and in fact looks good.
