Suggestions for replacing AV15-H

Hello,

I'm looking for suggestions on the best sub to replace my AV15-H. It has now blown twice and the last time took almost a year to fix and be returned. Apparently AE speakers does not even make the AV series now and doesnt have the means to repair them either.

My cabinet is the custom P1512 from AE, with 2 PR18-2500 passive radiators, and powered by Kiega 1000W plate amp.

So any suggestions on the best replacement would be greatly appreciated. price is not really a factor up to $500 or so.

I replace 2 av15h with 2 jbls and I heard no difference. I send 2 to John for repair last year but I don't think I will get them back anytime soon. Good luck with yours.
You can try lmsr too but the upper fr is not as good.

sorry to hear about your experience lw and yours da. the av15h was a good one and john j. really gave it his best. perhaps you were clipping the amp and sending a lot of dc into the driver. this is why every pro amp has clip lights. while the w15gti is a great driver, the driver might not be the problem.

LTD, thanks for your feedback. I was not listening at extremely loud levels or very low freq. & I believe datranz does power his with a pro amp. John J has often mentioned all the bad parts he has been stuck with from vendors. I'm more inline with thinking our drivers are a byproduct of these bad part. But I'm done dealing with AE there customer service is terrible, so i'm just gonna move along and buy a driver from somewhere else.
