I didn't notice a specific budget.
If the picture will post.... I bought these two BASS BINS (only) for $250. I did however, spend another $250 to have them delivered from Florida to Tennessee. So, I have $500 in them. Again, bass bins alone.
I have an active crossover so I'm already holding some of the parts...but, I've sat a Klipsch LaScala on top of these and they sound great. I've sat a Klipsch Heresy on top of them.... a true Heresy with some bark.
The main point is... if you have a bit of luck, you can find some big parts for a decent price and it can sound pretty damn good.
It might simply be better/cheaper to buy some used "......." (JBL's, Klipsch, other...) but if you want some serious punch, big toys like these will give it to you if you feed them the right diet.
Although the sound was KILLER, I'm not recommending the horn on top of this stack as the top horn alone is at/over $1,000 per horn. Just trying to give you some real world ideas of what someone has done.
This was done for an outdoor movie. YOu can see the screen on the ground. Today, I'm currently living/working in Florida and staying in an apartment. I've got these speakers in my 2nd bedroom and in a week, might pull the Jubilee's from active duty and try these in a stereo setup in my apartment living room.
