Hey guys, i hate to start a thread like this (sigh)...........................but im led shopping with a ceiling of $2100.00 or so. I've narrowed down to 3 tvs (hopefully) and I am wondering what's the pros and cons of these? I can read a spec sheet like everybody else but im hoping ill get some responses from people who have seen at least one of these sets in person. I normally wouldn't be the guy who starts one of "these" threads but i cant find any reviews on the interwebs so im desperate for your guys scrutiny on this...

SO here they are
1: sharp lc-60le845u
2: sony Kdl55hx750
3: lg 55Lm7600

Thanks for everyones input!

PS..Im wanting to know about screen uniformity, viewing angles, black levels, clouding etc.

The HX750 is an *alright set and there have been some bad reviews about this set in particular. It's not as bad as the reviews say it is, but it's not the best either. Flashlighting is common and without the gorilla glass almost every aspect of picture quality drops. I'd go for the HX820 (2011 model but MUCH better) if you want to go sony, it's a little bit more but not as much as the HX850.

The sharp is a great set, this set probably produces the best 3D out of the 3 you have chosen and the extra 5 inches helps too. Heard a lot of great stuff about this set. Lacks some of the major content apps that LG and Sony have. Has vudu (walmart's netflix) which the hx750 does not, IIRC.

But i would still probably go with the LM7600. It has a pretty cool magic motion remote, plenty of content apps and the 3d is passive so no annoyingly heavy active 3d glasses. Flashlighting is common on this set so expect to do some calibration before you are happy. This set also looks the best out of the 3 you have listed, i personally love the slim bezel design and if not for my HX850 i would have jumped on one of these new 2012 LG sets.

All 3 will experience flashlighting until you have properly calibrated it.

good luck!

if you think you are losing sleep... wait till you get the set home and love it for the first few days and then second guess yourself when you see an issue...

that aside... All will have flashlighting if you dont get a set with local dimming. Even then I have heard local dimming sets from samsung have flashlighting.

LG supposedly has the best viewing angle with their IPS panels

Sony has a great picture but I do not believe the HX750 has local dimming.
Sony's internet apps menu interface is like Microsoft DOS and LG's is like Windows 7

I have not researched much on Sharp so cannot help you there but see less horror stories in their reviews.

Good luck with your search. Take each set with a grain of salt as there is no PERFECT tv

Ty for your help. Do any of you hear of game lag with LGs? I noticed these sets : samsung un55d7000l, samsung un55es6500 and some other samsung 60" like es6100, d6000. Any of these winners? Pretty sure if I had the dough id spring for the Sammy 55d8000. I've been leaning the lg7600. You guys are awesome!

Samsung UN55D7000 or Samsung UN55D8000 is the way to go in my opinion. I did a lot of analysis at each TV and the LG's 3d looks cheap compared to the others and the Samsung 3d looks the best out of the Sony, Samsung, and Sharp. As non-3D HD the Samsung wins in that department too and with non-HD as well. So basically if you want a solid TV get the Samsung for the best of all worlds. LG's picture is just bleh in my opinion. Go to a store and look at the LG TV. HH Gregg has it on display.

On a side note the Samsung also has the best lag input for gaming.

oh man... loosing sleep? really???

I don't think you'll EVER be able to enjoy any TV you ever buy. You might want to consider just relaxing a bit, or maybe just go without a TV altogether for a while, then any new modern TV will seem great.

good to hear you're not literally loosing sleep.

given some of the personalities on this website, I wouldn't put it past some of them to REALLY lose sleep over their TV...

however having said that, conversely, the obsessive-compulsive tenancies of some of those same people turns into valuable info for the rest of us.

How true that statement is! In case anyone is interested I went with the Samsung un55d8000y. This tv has been on my radar for a while but out of my price range. I went the local BB to eyeball the above mentioned LG and Sharp and the Samsung un55d7000. I saw the 8000 and asked about the price since it wasnt mentioned and was hoping to haggle a bit. I found out it was a display for sale and since its last years model they didnt have any new. I would typically never go for something like this, but it looked in the store like it was in good shape and the pq is gorgeous! Got them to come down A LOT in price too and I got 2 glasses...

NOW.. for the negatives.. The bezel (which as we all know is crazy good looking) has some flakes in the black part of it and the chrome is showing through. I dont know if this is fixable or not. Its hardly noticeable, but as chicago mentioned above OCD people fit right in here! I wonder if sharpie would do the trick? Seems tacky. The other thing is that I so far found one dead pixel in the middle left of the panel. Im hoping all this is covered by Samsung's 1 year warranty because I really love the picture but am distracted by these flaws (OCD again)

Got the 845u this past weekend. I'm super critical of, everything.
So far this Sharp is doing well. Game Mode was key for us to turn off all the motionplus crap that screwed up our streaming videos and gave us the soap opera effect.

We came from a Sony 46" v3000 and were tired of the religion of sony - nothing but sony for 20 years and we were done.

It powers up super fast - instant image on screen, runs cool to the touch, 3d is great - don't listen to passive/active snobs..Active is really nice due to more color...and the active glasses are by NO means heavy. What a laugh.

Good luck.

Also, we went with Sharp because of the consistent reviews online. LG, well, we have an LG refrigerator. Somehow an LG tv seemed odd. Maybe just a vibe thing. Plus, the stupid extra yellow pixel feature got us too. Seems like it does help add some depth of color that you typically see in plasma displays.
