Ishtar wasn't that bad if I recall correctly.
I wonder how it stands up to modern viewing...

Sure! Mike has good "ears" and would quickly have discerned your system's poor audio quality and how good the CB3 HD sounded.

Now hangin' around with you at CEDIA would be fine, forget the Theta biz!

But you really seriously fairly demoing Theta gear at your home - yea, like when the sun won't shine anymore!

Steve. A bit more family time might do you well, too. Too much anger.
I'm with my family right now! What are you doing?

If you were so interested in maximizing family time you would stop posting at AVS!

90% of posting is from work?! Who has time to work at work when I can post! I work 30 hours a week but only 45 min of every hour!

Only work 30 hours a week but could not find time to hook up the CB3HD? All joked aside, it might be time to just, "quit talking."

Exactly. I schedule as few hours as I can to make my nut - this is part of the reason I chose my job. Sure i could increase my income if i worked more hours, but i dont have the time nor the inclination. Time in the HT has been getting a smaller and smaller slice as of late and even so, I needed one more week to do the comparison. If I had my theater at work, I'd have had this demo done!

Umm...you know, what you're saying is that you actually have no income (profits) at all since you're just making the nut working full time @ 30 hours

Maybe you should stick with words they taught you in dentisterin school, where you suposibly gots yourself an edumacation
post #257 of 271
I know people who are rabid antidentites!
I think shoot out did took place if he did not have time he must have indicated long time ago, but what did he find????
It's a shame because where I live it is very difficult to home demo gear at all, especially high end kit and at best it would be over a weekend. Forget one month!

OK anti-dentites!

I did talk to my source last night and I will have the CBIII again. Don't know the date, but this time I will get a heads up on delivery and will plan accordingly. I already have the cables! And since it will likely be in the fall, I'll not be traveling so much and will be able to schedule time to do this. Maybe i can get my buddy Mark Seaton to come over and do a great calibration of it.

Why not just go out on AudioGon and buy one? There's plenty there at reasonable prices.

The Bland's anti-Theta history goes back years and years here at AVS. He has never been willing to pay a penny to purchase a Theta product, and he never will. He had a CB3 HD on loan for a month or more yet never did the demo with AVSers that he promised. This thread was a joke from the start!tongue.gif

Forget the Theta. Pretty soon I will try the HTPC - LYNC AES16 - Metric Halo. The latter is a serious piece of equipment and an excellent DAC with amazing specs. So try an Origen S21T (beautiful case) with iCore 7 3770K, the Lynx and the Halo as well as some serious DRC software and for about $10K (maybe a bit more) I doubt you can beat this combination easily if possible at all.

I am moving from B&W 800Ds, HTM1D, 4 x 803Ds, 2SCMS to a full Danley Setup with 3 X SH50s as LCR for start and then 4X SM96s for surrounds and 1.5Kw per channel eventually. I will make a thread with my findings but I am still at the planning stages apart from the Danleys that I am getting soon.

P.S. No offense but I feel I had to write something useful in this thread for those who had the bad luck to read till this point!biggrin.gif

Please do a brand new thread on your HTPC - we are interested! Do not post in this thread as you will be merely washing The Bland's dirty anti-Theta linen!
