I've tried reseting, disconnecting and changing to different settings in the trumotion; doesn't work, i leave it off but i can still see it, the only mode that seems to turn it off is Gaming. I really don't know what to do, maybe you know a way to rollback the firmware or something, i saw someone posted a method to rollback by pressing 9 on the options menu but the tv only came with the magic remote, so i can't press 9 in the context that is needed. Thank you for any help.
Ps. Sorry for my bad english.

Are you experiencing this when watching network shared videos? If so, the Trumotion setting needs to be adjusted within the application/player in the options menu. The smart features Trumotion is within the contents player options and not adjusted within the main menu Trumotion area. I lost my mind on this one until I stumbled upon it. If you are watching a video via the network player, pause it, arrow over to options, click it, select Vid. Settings and voila! Trumotion adjustments are ready to be adjusted. I believe it was set to "clear" by default which is fairly high for my taste. I all but gave up on the DLNA movie watching until I located this setting. Sincerely hope this helps, I was going crazy with it.

It is a 60hz panel with some kind of 'proprietary' algorithm that basically turns the backlight on and off to supposedly simulate the 120hz effect. And you guessed it, the 240Hz Trumotion is really a 120hz panel with similar processing. This applies to the 2012 models only, I believe (2011 models run at the advertised refresh rates).
Of course, my 55LM6200 is supposed to arrive tomorrow, so I will take a close look to see if this is worth keeping. In general, I am not bothered by the 'supposed' motion blur (I may just be blind) and I prefer the standard 60hz panel, but this is very much dependent on each individual's sensitivities. DisplayMate, FWIW, did a study regarding motion blur back in '09/'10 (?) and they said 120/240 hz by itself may not offer significant benefits although those panels may be built to higher standards in terms of PQ etc.
See here for more info: http://hdguru.com/lg-55lm6700-hdtv-review-when-120-hz-isnt-120-hz-updated/8281/
HTH.

Huh.... Well that's disappointing. Thanks for sharing the info. I've got to be honest, this TV has been nothing but a challenge since the start. This tactic may be the straw for me. I really like the set, but I doubt I'll be coming back to LG for any electronics in the future. They seem to be either unwilling or uninterested in being forthcoming with facts and solutions to their customers. Pretty disappointed after reading your article and I can completely admit that I was fooled. Thanks Raagamuffin for sharing that. Sorry to have been so sure of the information I believed.... I'm just another fooled and disappointed customer at this point... I had heard of this technique before I bought, however, I was also under the impression the 120Hz label was not allowed to be on the box in this circumstance as it was an effect, not a hardware technology. urgh... Very deflated right about now... Once again. Thanks LG. I knew I should have trusted my gut and not accepted this model when I went to the store looking for the LW5600... Grr.
So... can we expect the deblur in a firmware update? I really miss this feature.
maybe next firmware update will fix deblur problem.. confused.gif
post #156 of 272
This is highly off-topic and probably a stupid question...but looking at the corner of my LM6700 there seems to be a little air bubble under a "film" looking material (almost like a protective plastic to be peeled off the screen...

Just to make sure, these models do not ship with a protective matte film that needs to be peeled off, right?
These sets do NOT come with a removeable protective film on the screen so don't try to remove it. Sounds like you have a screen defect. I'd exchange it if you still can or contact LG support under the warrenty.

I did just have a chat w/ a rep who also told me there wasn't a film to be removed...

But what I do find interesting, the little air bubble I know can be pressed out the corner with no issues, but you do see that on the very top and bottom of the screen there is an edge of a film with a cut pattern, correct?

Also, my screen is matte, not glossy... this is normal?
actually normally lm6700 are glossy. maybe the newest ones got matte film? what the manufactured date on yours?

I think it was Feb 2012...it did not come with the newer firmware that some had w/ the Trumotion setting...

I am away from home, but if anyone can snap a pic of their screen so maybe I can see a difference...
Hi to all. New to all of this but just wanted to advise that I have just successfully updated my 55 LM 6700 with update (04.00.14) and the trumotion function is now in settings.
Cheers

Hi all,

I purchase last month a 47lm5850 and experience trouble with trumotion and set top box Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD+ from videotron with non hd or poor quality hd content I see many blur effect ...

I see everywere that the solution is to disabling trumotion option but there is no trumotion option in the menu ...

My model seem to be a "costco" revision of the 47lm5800 ... today I try a new firmware from LG 03.02.67 expecting that would add the trumotion option but nothing ...

Does anyone have found a firmware with trumotion enabled for canadian model 47lm5850-uf ?

Thanks !

Any thoughts>?
Thanks

As far as i know the lm5800 update does not have that, only the lm6700. The reason i say that is b/c my cousin just bought the lm5800 and did the update and still nothing so he took it back and got the lm6700. He had to call LG and they had him connect the ethernet cable to his TV and they sent it to him. So if you want the update call LG and they will send it to your TV but you still wont have tru motion settings. Take it back and get the lm6700 or 7600 model. Places like BestBuy and HHGregg will price match any internet prices so he had BestBuy price match Amazon for the lm6700 and ended up paying the same price he paid for the lm5800. Even if you have to pay a little more for the TV its worth it. The diff between the his lm5800 and my lm6700 was huge so he went back and got the lm6700 and is very happy. If you go to the LCD thread of this website they have another section for the lm5800 and the lm6700 that has alot more going on than here, actually there is a guy on the lm6700 thread that just swaped out the lm5800 for the 6700 maybe he can exspress how big a diff there is. But as far as getting the tru motion on urs i dont think that u can...

I got the same problem. Whats weird is that I connected the tv to the internet and it said 'no new updates.' I check the LG website and there is a new update so I had to update it via usb drive. So odd.
Its been more than a few months since this thread was made so I guess we're never getting trumotion options.

Also I dont see a 5800 owners thread but what would be the closest model?

I have 47LS5600 which is listed as using the same firmware. its also suppose to have trumotion but there is no way of enabling/disabling it.

when I do tests using this dvd it looks like trumotion is disabled by default.

http://www.tvblink.com/i_dvd.html

the field rendering tests are jumpy instead of having "true" motion.

Does the 'realcinema' option show up when you did the tests?

Just a over 2 weeks ago the Netflix app stopped working and would lock the TV up until I turned it OFF/ON. I actually was coming onto the site to ask if anyone had the same issue, but I noticed the 6700 started downloading a new update: ver.04.12.23.

I will report back if this fixes that issue.
Nope.... Netflix app still times out and then locks the TV up.

EDIT:

Just an FYI, After deactivating the Netflix app in the settings, then restarting the App and putting in my credentials everything is working again.

Owner of the LG55G2 here and guess what, no Trumotion. Everybody on this thread should send a complaint about this to LG since this is pretty much false advertisement. Its like paying for a feature and then not having the ability to access it. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Just got the new update. Anyone else notice that De-blurr is now gone and all we have is De-judder haha?
there's a new firmware Version 03.40.08 for these models:

37LS5600-UC
42CM565-UB
42LM3400-UC
42LM3700-UC
42LM5800-UC
42LS5650-UD
47CM565-UB
47LM4600-UC
47LM4700-UE
47LM5800-UC
47LM5850-UF
47LS4600-UA
47LS5600-UC
55LM5800-UC
55LM4600-UC
55LM4700-UE
55LM5850-UF
55LS4600-UA
55LS5600-UC

still no sign of trumotion on my 47LS5600-UC. one thing I noticed is I have to set the sharpness higher than before to get the same result.
55LM4700 with firmware update... also no trumotion.

Is there any chance of changing the model in the service menu and or flashing a firmware from a different model to get the setting for TM available?

New firmware Version 03.40.08 same thing on 42lm3400-UC no tru motion option mad.gif, improvements on save energy now in this option can be calibrate sensor sensibility for best results saving more o less energy and be dynamic, thing that dosen´t will happen before, before only was dynamic,3d was updated now have more deep on option maybe before was 20=22 now,and in my opinion the reception drop in some channels because the update, before the update, the reception in all channels was good even with poor signal, now less than 62% of signal is = only audio before wasnt like that, apart of this function don´t seems to be a big update maybe only minor bugs corrected, i hope a firmware version 4.x.x this update maybe come with trumotion option, or lg dosen't implement this opcion on true capable tvs because her mercantil ideology don´t let him mad.gif, i will continue testing the new firmware for more unseen changes

Dang, I just bought the 55LM4700 today and there is no trumotion option. I contacted customer support and they said there isnt a fix, and they dont think there will be one. Is there any way to adjust this setting on my TV?
damn, that's pretty bad if they advertise a feature that isnt really there. maybe the processor (or some other hardware) in these models cant really handle it or something...
Hello all, just got a 42LM6200 that came with 04.02.87 which updated to 04.20.18 and all Trumotion features are there.

Seems to be a pretty amazing set so far but just got it.

Will update any issues.
Found this on the LG Q&A webpage for the 47LM5800 in response to an owner's question:

"Yes, although the two specifications you have mentioned are not the same thing, they are both always active. The 120Hz aspect of the TV cannot be changed. It is part of the design of the LCD panel itself. The TruMotion feature is also, currently, always active. Controls for this feature will potentially be added in a future firmware update. "

It's been more than 5 months since this response was posted, perhaps if we all asked/complained
to LG...

I too was wondering if these TV's can be flashed with another driver that has TruMotion settings,
anyone?

I guess no one really wants to try that and end up with an expensive lemon. maybe its as simple as downloading different model's firmware and renaming the file to match your model. let us know what happens after that. smile.gif

kinda weird if the Trumotion would be there without settings to enable/disable it. sounds more like they're covering their ass.
