Bought my LG 55LM4600 3D HDTV on 'Cyber Monday' after Thanksgiving through Wal*mart for $899.98 with FREE Shipping to my home.
After updating it with the LG ver. 03.40.08 software, it no longer allowed my cable 3D to decode.
Contacted LG dozens of times with no solution from them!
Went to the Walmart website and bought another one for $100.00 LESS with free shipping to my home before Christmas.

When it arrives, I'll take the other 'Updated' unit back that I overpaid for!

On November 26th (Cyber Monday) I purchased your 55LM4600 via Walmart-Online. It arrived November 29th.
On November 30th, 2012, I Installed the TV and tested all of its functions. I am happy with everything.
Next Day I downloaded and installed, from your website, your recommended firmware update Version 03.40.08.
I can no longer select 3D viewing (the boxes are GREYED OUT (see attachment).
Yesterday (Dec 10th), I contacted you regarding this issue. I requested a software patch or ORIGINAL set-up software to reverse the problem I was informed you will contact me with a resolution, but that has been 20 hours ago!
I will wait 5 days to have this resolved before I contact the Better Business Bureau.
By the way… On Oct. 8th, I ordered and paid for a pair of your LG Washer & Dryers ($2100.00), [waiting to be delivered], which I will cancel, if my 55LM4600 3D HDTV issue is not resolved!

Thank you for choosing LG Electronics, my name is Adam and I am a Home Electronics Product Specialist and i will be more than happy to assist you today.
Judging strictly from the picture provided, you are able to view 3D content by 2D-3D conversion. Unfortunately on the grand scale of things, a less than 24 hour turnaround for almost any is just not usually possible. We service hundreds of thousands of people in the US alone and problems are addressed in the order in which they are received. No one is given any special treatment over another. I’m sorry you had to wait 20+ hours but any issue takes time to investigate, diagnose, and correct no matter what the issue is. The type of 3D picture that you can view will be limited to what the source allows you to see. If you have a 3D BluRay player then you will most likely be able to view all 5 different 3D modes because most BluRay units support this but then you may be viewing content from a cable box and only two options are available. If this is the case then the signal source is only allowing you to view these two types of 3D picture. You may be able to contact your cable service provider to change the type of the signal to something else or you may be able to change this from the cable box itself but for further information on that you will need to contact your cable service provider. Again, it is very important to remember that the television will ONLY show the 3D type/quality that it is given by the external device so if the device is only sending your television a 2D-3D conversion signal, 2D-3D conversion is all that your television will be able to display until you connect a device that will display something else.

My Reply:
SUBJECT: 3D not available after Ver. 03.40.08 update. Worked GREAT before update!
PROBLEM: CAN NOT SELECT 3D MODES – grayed out.
I have done the following:
* Unplugged from power and RESET 55LM4600 to Initial settings
* Verified my HDMI cables are 1.2 Grade or higher (I have 1.3 grade high speed)… RESULT = FAIL
* Verified my HDMI cables are securely connected… RESULT = FAIL
* Contacted Comcast (Xfinity ™) and had them test and reset their signal twice with my other two HD 3D Cable boxes (which I switched both times = 4 tests)… RESULT = FAIL
* Tested on my USB Flash Drive with a 3D Movie... RESULT = PASSED
* Tested on my LG Model: BP325W 3D Blu-ray Player connected via HDMI… RESULT = PASSED
