I sent back 4 tvs tryn to get the right one and every time i called amazon after the company picked up the tv and asked if they woyld call and verify the tv has been picked up and go ahead and give me my refund and every time they did so i was only without a tv for like 4 or 5 days wasnt to bad i just put my tv from my bed room in the living room.

So you were returning for a refund, and you had to rebuy at whatever the price was that day? The price of this TV seems to fluctuate by about $400. Were you returning the TV as faulty, or were you simply returning as you didn't want it any more? 2 appointments and time without the TV would suck. Going to hold out hope for the firmware to come soon.

So I chatted with LG support, and this is the transcript:

"James: Hi I just purchased the 55LM6200, and I was unable to find the settings for TruMotion.
James: Do you know how to enable this feature?
Naomi: hello
Naomi: Good Evening
Naomi: I will be more than happy to check that for you,.
Naomi: the engineers are working on the software for it to be on the menu
Naomi: I do not have a ETA but they are working on it
James: So there is no way to turn on the feature until that software is released?
Naomi: No the engineers are working on it"

For what it's worth this is admission that the feature is off... It is only one CSA but there it is.

I returned my 55LM6200 manufactured in April and specifically asked about newer TV's. They just got a batch of 55LM6700's in, so I upgraded and this one is manufactured in May. TruMotion absolutely makes a difference even on the lower settings, so it was not enabled on the one I had which was made in April.

Is that upgrade really worth it? Didn't seem like much more on the feature front.

I'd love to go up to 65" but that's over a $1000 more!

Aside from this TruMotion fiasco with the LM series, are there any other flaws to prevent me from ordering a 55LM6700? Hopefully when I get it from Amazon it will be one of the newer versions with TruMotion properly enabled. If not, it's my understanding from the forums here that Amazon has a very liberal return policy as long as its done within the 30 days.

Any other problems you guys have been having aside from TruMotion that should give me pause? Thanks!

I encourage you all to leave a review on Amazon.com talking about this issue. I might have thought twice about this TV had I read a number of reviews stating this problem.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat with wanting the 65" as well. And they gave me the upgrade for $150 (total of $1450), so I went ahead and did it. I like the silver bezel and other than that there is local dimming, (even though I haven't seen much of a difference)

People, people it was never installed in the first place they did it to sell them for more money to make back what they invested tryn to make the thinest bezel tv on the market. They hoped we wouldnt notice that it wasnt on and take their word on it that its on by default and works when it needs to to make it sound more advanced. They lied and did a little fauls advertising and they still are lieing to us trying to figure out what the hell to do. There has got to be a smart ass person out there somewhere tha can get into this tv and see if it has it and what the hz is and everything. If i dont get the update im gonna hire someone to do that and then sue the crap out of LG for faults advertising!!!

I did just that and I encourage you guys to do the same... I got this response in the comments from my review (which is quite sad actually, given the fact that they've already given us specific dates for the update to come and they were all ********). I've also posted comments on their facebook and twitter but -of course- nothing...:

"they toold me in mid july they will have the firmwear ready"

I spoke with them and they said they would send a new TV and pick up the old one at the same time. Should I wait on the firmware or should I just go ahead and do it?

I wonder whether I could get some credit from Amazon for the missing feature. I can't say I have missed it yet, I'd take some Amazon credit rather than return it.

I gave up and changed it today for a Samsung TV...

After countless hours searching online (and on the phone) for an acceptable answer, I finally gave up and changed this TV for a Samsung TV, quite a shame... I used to love LG.. not anymore now.
My first objective was to change it for another LG of the same model, but the ones on display and on storage had all the same issue: no trumotion. So they offered me to take this tv into account and upgrade for another one so I chose the Samsung one and that's pretty much it... I strongly recommend that - if this is a super important issue for you (as in my case) to do the same and change it before newer models come up and your tv looses some of it's value.

Just installed Firmware Version 3.12.03 from Australian LG Website on my 42LM6200.
TruMotion is enabled and all seems OK.
When checking for updates via my TV (Via WiFi Dongle) no new updates are shown, but I found the firmware on the website...
Has anyone noticed that the EPG doesn't display current or upcoming programs for any channel except the current one? The only fix I can find is to manually cycle through 1 channel at a time... Very frustrating...
Also, does anyone have any recommended picture settings for this model? Thanks.

Where at on the LG website are the firmware downloads? I really liked this set, and after taking my second TV back they offered to exchange it out for a Panasonic Viera TCL55ET5. I took the exchange but I am undecided whether or not I like the set. If there is a download that does enable TruMotion on the website I may take the Panasonic back. Any thoughts?

Edit: Just checked the LG Canada website and no updates. The LG.com website has an update from April. Still looking for thoughts on whether or not I should keep the Panasonic or take it back.

So if you live in the U.S. you still can not download the firmware? I bought my 47lm6200 this weekend and there was no Trumotion included in the picture options. I was wondering how to find the manufacture date and I was also wondering if anyone was successful in returning one model without Trumotion for an newer manufactured model with Trumotion installed. Also for the Australian 6200 owner, could you definitely see a difference since you downloaded the firmware update? If so, was it a drastic difference? Can you elaborate more on the differences since you updated, so we can all know what to expect? I wish I discovered these boards before my purchase, but i think my best best now is to wait a few weeks and if there's no update released then return mine for a newer one. The funny thing is I bought this model after returning a Samsung.

The difference is noticeable. Trumotion seems better for watching sports, but not for movies. I'm really no expert with picture quality though and haven't had much time to play, just my own experience.

So here we are, approaching the end of June. "End of May" has passed by almost a month and all I have received by way of information is a simple apology and lame excuse. Here is what my last enquiry achieved...

LG Says:
"I'm so sorry we've disappointed you. We spoke the HE Manager and he's let us know that this firmware update is still happening and should be ready within the next few weeks. Sometimes unexpected delays happen, unfortunately, but this will be available soon."

I'd be inclined to believe this if it wasn't for the previous promises which steered me away from exercising my right to return the TV at the time I complained. I was within my return policy by approximately 1 week but when I spoke to the all-knowing "HE Manager", I was convinced not to bring it back to the store for a refund because "it would be more hassle than it was worth because the update is just about ready". The promise of "By the end of May" has been broken for over 3 weeks now.

I am looking in to my options and it appears this would qualify as a consumer rights violation. This evening I clearly expressed my disappointment and willingness to take further steps, if a resolution was not reached this week. I have absolutely had it at this point and believe I have been very accomodating towards LG, to make good on their promises. After spending thousands on a set which is not what it claims to be, no resolution in sight and being convinced by LG management that returning my set during the retun policy would only be a pointless waste of my own time and energy due to the soon to be had update... I'm at the end of my patience-rope.

I have not expressed this situation on any social media platform as of yet, but considering 7500+ people have read about this problem just in this forum, as of June 26th, I'm sure it would create an uncomfortable situation for LG if it were to hit facebook...

I'll update with any new info when available.

Best luck to you.

My story is pretty much the same as yours... I waited (believing in their lies of an upcomming update) for 3 weeks... but finally I had it and changed it for a Samsung LED TV, it had everything as the LG (trumotion (or 120hz), 3d, internet) and I have to say that there is a significant difference with the tv runningn at 120hz (which is why I also came to know that they lied when they told me that the trumotion was ON by default).

I have written about this on amazon, facebook and twitter and I recommend you to do the same. It's unfair of them to advertise a product with lies, then lie about the situation and on top of that expect us to wait until they "solve" the issue...

curiously, had they admitted they ****ed up and offer a decent solution (i.e. " we are very sorry for this, we screwed up. Bring us your tv and we'll replace it with another one with the trumotion option active") then there would be no need to "complain" online but no... they prefer to lie and lie and lie and enrage customers...

I also have been plagued by the issue with the trumotion on my 42LM6200. LG has been nothing but terrible about this situation. According to the LG Chat "Specialist" I just spoke to the firmware should be released by next week. I'm taking this though with a grain of salt as we all have been continuously burned by them.

1:32 PM Stephanie: Hello Tyler S.. Welcome to LG Electronics U.S.A. Support only. How may I provide you with excellent service today?
1:34 PM Tyler S.: Hi right now I own a LM6200 tv and I was wondering when the firmware upgrade that would allow the user to control trumotion to be released
1:34 PM Stephanie: I would be happy to help you with that.
1:35 PM Tyler S.: I read on your site under the ask and answer section that LG was aware of the issue and that they would be releasing an update soon
1:35 PM Stephanie: The engineers are still working on it, I will put you in my email list, to let you know by email, when is released
1:35 PM Tyler S.: great, thank you
1:36 PM Tyler S.: is there a time table on when the release will be happening?
1:36 PM Tyler S.: I read it was suppsoed to be the end of May
1:36 PM Tyler S.: then it got pushed back to June
1:36 PM Tyler S.: *supposed
1:36 PM Stephanie: That is correct!!
1:37 PM Tyler S.: Also I have a random question for you
1:38 PM Tyler S.: does the firmware from australia work on the american lm6200 series?
1:38 PM Stephanie: No, it does not work
1:38 PM Tyler S.: Ok
1:39 PM Tyler S.: So you expect the firmware to be released fairly soon?
1:39 PM Stephanie: Yes, it should be out by next week
1:40 PM Stephanie: I am waiting to update my TV as well, I will do my best to keep you posted

We shall see! cool.gif

This morning I received a call from the "HE Manager". I was somewhat surprised to receive a call so quickly I must say. Here are the details:

Paraphrased conversation: There are several updates happening which go beyond the firmware version currently shipping, as of May, in the sets which work properly (one version higher than ours). Various apps will be added, a browser update, and TruMotion will appear on sets where it currently does not. The newest promise is that this roll-up update will be available in 2 weeks (“early July”). Apparently it wasn’t important enough to satisfy the currently disappointed customers. Instead of communicating this, LG decided to keep quiet, skip releasing the current firmware version publicly via download from website or web update on TV and focus on releasing a bigger update which will add more functionality than just the feature in question. So I’ve been lead to believe anyway.

Additionally, the HE Manager has my personal email and is trying to get the current version of firmware and will email it to me if at all possible. If I can get my hands on it, I will host on my Drop Box and provide a link to the update so you can download and install it yourself.

I will update with more information if this vague release date does not happen. I WILL be going to the next corporate level if it does not happen this time around. We're on strike 2 at the moment.

Hang in there everyone. I'm not giving up on this.

Cheers.

Good lookin' out! I checked 2 hrs ago...!

Look what happens when you put consistent and serious pressure on the big guy! Looks like they finally gave in and released the update. I'm going to bet there's another update next month. Apparently the July update will include the Disney Channel App. When that appears, we have the newest update including the bug fixes which was described during my phone call today.

Can anyone confirm if this update is out in Canada or not? Also, how does the TruMotion look on the older sets? I am looking to take back the Panasonic and get this set again.

I updated this morning, trumotion was there, didn't have any time to play.
From the little time that I was able to play with the settings, Trumotion does serve as a significant enhancer. I was able to notice a big improvement while watching sportscenter last night. Glad it only took LG about 2 months to get their **** together.

Thank you again to everyone that helped by consistently complaining to LG. biggrin.gif
