I am currently trying to get access to the software to program Crestron remotes with no success.
I work for my self dealing with people's home AV systems I am on the small side with some very loyal customers, I sell and program Universal Remotes (URC) for the most part, so I understand using a control processor to trigger the IR commands sending rs-232 commands, having the processor monitor the system knowing when things are on or off, discrete codes, and programming graghical touchscreen remotes. I'm not a novice or a DIY'er.
The problem I have is I bump into these Crestron systems from time to time I usually recommend going back to the original programmer they could have a copy of the program of the remote making it a quicker fix, and if I programmed it 1. most importatly I don't have acces to software and 2. I would have to start over which could cause it to cost more for me to do it then the orginal programmer. Sometimes like anything they don't want to or won't and I end up selling them new remotes, which I think is a waste, and I would like to use the remotes in those situations if there worth using.
I contacted Crestron I can't sign up for CAIP unless I'm a partner or a dealer the only partnership which I see that I remotely qualify for is the consultant UPlink, but no success, and I don't think I could be a dealer I'm on the small side and there are dealers in my area.
Any help getting access to to software will be helpfull.
