Old But New for Me: Benq w6000 vs LG CF181d

Realizing that these two PJs have been around a while, the current price on the LG is not too different from a w6000 (if you can find one). But which is the better choice. Coming from a DLP history, I have no interest in an LCD PJ. So these two are the one's I've been looking at.

The BenQ w6000 has at least one review that concerns me. Here is what the reviewer wrote:

No frame interpolation. The W6000 lacks a frame interpolation system. Frame interpolation is a technology that looks at the frames of film or video, then creates interim frames in order to enhance the smoothness of motion. It was perhaps the biggest development in home theater projectors last year, and people are still debating its desirability and effectiveness. Many new models coming out this fall will have some form of frame interpolation, but the W6000 does not.

Image noise. When compared to the competition, the W6000 had more evident image noise. This manifests as a dazzling, shimmering, or dancing graininess, especially in blocks of mid-toned or lighter colors. This can be distracting to some people, while others find it easy to ignore.

I've looked at at least one BenQ (w1060) and it had the image noise referenced above. The reviews of the LG have no mention of any such issues.

So I'm asking my fellow AVS experts on these matters to give me your take on which of these two make the best picture (brightness, sharpness, image noise), Never owned an LG or BenQ, just an Optoma HD80 and before that an NEC HT1100 (not an HD PJ).

The LG looks pretty solid, certainly heavy (21 pounds). The current LG deal includes an extra lamp and it has a two-year warranty vs the BenQ's one-year.

I hate these PJ vs. PJ threads but in the absence of not being able to physically compare, your experiences are the strongest information on which to decide.

Thanks for your thoughtful consideration.

No thoughts about this?

Benq w6000 produces a better image over the LG, there are ways to fight image noise. The newer firmwares of the w6000 have a tad less noise for one, but mainly its the calibration when people have the problem.
