getting rid of store bought and making every thing. - Page 2

Hi Mike, can I ask where you are located? If you are close to a forum member maybe you could get some help with the measurements and specs. Home audio is in many ways easier than car audio. But the standards are much higher. So many people in car audio use big amps and hi spl to cover up their systems limitations. In home you need to be able to hear very quite sounds as well as explosions. So the details become more important.

i live in Beaufort SC. it's about 50 mile from Savannah GA.

so i did some box building this weekend. and this is want i built.....
these are massive audio CW 10" subs the box is 3.5 cubic feet. i tried it on the mx1500a
played a movie and liston to some music crossed over @ 90 Hrz and no sub sonic filter.
port tuned to 20 Hrz. good results i think. from where i sat it was just right. play music it kept up the the rest of hte system and still had way more to go. total power need was 1200 for the pair of 10" subs. i was @ 8 ohm mono so it was 700~750 watts at about 1/3 power.
