I've been doing quite a bit a reading today and each of the following subs, and I think I got the gist of each model. The following models are

Hsu STF-2 $350
Energy VSW10 - $380 (WAF)
Energy S10.3 - $200

I just wanted to know if the Hsu STF-2 is worth the extra $150 compared to the S10.3

Also, is the VSW10 have a tighter sound at lower Hz compared to the STF-2, it states that I can hit lower frequency, but does it start to sound muddy on the VSW10?

I'm mainly looking for clarity over the rumbling of the room.
Room is 12Lx10Wx8H w/ an open side to the kitchen. 50% movies 30% music 20% games.

Your room "size" is going to include ALL of the space open to your room and any adjoining rooms/stairways/halls/etc. Measure and report back.

The STF-2 and the S10.3 have 10" drivers and 200W amps, their cabinets are similarly sized, and they have similar extension numbers (STF-2: 25Hz @ -2dB; S10.3: 21Hz @ -3dB). The STF-2 may have higher output overall, but I can't confirm (or deny) that.

So, IMO, the STF-2 isn't worth $150 more than the S10.3. Given the size of your room, I'd just add another $50 to the pot and get dual S10.3s.

If you're at all able to stretch your budget to $499 (shipping included), the Outlaw LFM-1 Plus is a well-regarded sub worth considering.

My VSW10 sounds much tighter than my STF-2 did. I found the difference both unexpected and striking.

I took a look at the outlaw LFM-1 Plus a while ago, but the size of is a bit to big for my place. Stretching the budget to 500 isn't a problem, except for the fact that anything above or around $500 has a large cabinet. Thanks for the input.

Also, what do you mean by a higher output overall, I've seen this everywhere but I've always been unsure what it mean.

Anyone know if it's a good gamble to go with B-Stock w/ Vanns?

Awesome someone who has listen to both side by side. I was leaning toward the S10.3 due to the price factor or the VSW10 because of the WAF, it can be hidden so easily.

Perhaps I didn't use the correct terminology, but what I meant to say is that while both subs might play roughly the same range of frequencies, the STF-2 might play louder (have more output) than the S10.3 at most of the frequencies within that range (and, therefore, have "higher output overall").

Thanks for clearing it up, It makes a lot more sense now.
