Yamy A1010 vs Marantz sr6006, same price, which would u take?

I agree on the xx12 series denons as far as looks. The 3313 looks much better but we still don't know all the features that will be on it. I do like the Marantz over the Yamaha because I am a big audyssey fan. Also you have to move up to the 2010 in order to get Ypao that eqs a sub. I think you will find better deals on the 6006 if you wait a little longer because the new ones are supposed to be announced at the end of the month.

Yamaha lower end receivers, the RX-V571, RX-V671, and RX-A710 are really nice receivers beating most for performance and convenience features but the RX-V871, RX-A810, and RX-A1010 are poor values IMO. They offer subpar room correction and subpar upscaling next to the competition.

IMO, the AVR-3312CI has the best performance and convience features for it's price. Marantz should be close since these 2 receiver lines usually share a lot of design practices since they are owned by the same company D & M holdings. Denon usually comes out to be the better buy IMO and that's likely because Denon has a larger retail market from what I've seen.

I love the AVR-2312CI so far, it's sound is very good and judging by the Home Theater Mag review of the AVR-2311CI, it's power output is just slightly lower in multichannel and stereo, than the AVR-3312CI.

You do give up some convenience features and some performance features but so far I'm impressed for the low price this receiver is now going for. It's power output is as good as many $1000 - $1200 receivers.

I previously had an Onkyo TX-NR709 ordered and cancelled due to the problems people were having. My dealer was aware of the defects and couldn't promise me a unit that wouldn't be defective. I then later ordered the TX-NR609 thinking that these were defect free, only to find a major problem with these units as well, where Onkyo posted a statement on their website on how these receivers were defective and how they would be repaired. I cancelled as I have enough headaches in life, a toy should bring joy and not stress.

I have been using a Denon AVR-3803 that replaced a Defective Yamaha RX-V2300 I had ordered from Tweeter before they folded. The Denon has been great. I just ordered and setup a Yamaha RX-A710 which turned out to be defective, once again , from defective video conversion, defective HDCP protection and a defective HDMI control handshake problem with my cable box. Sent back and bought the AVR-2312CI. It has none of the latter 2 problems but still has black level bug with analog 480i video conversion to HDMI. Seems this is the norm as both this receiver and the Yamaha had it, but I'm looking for a fix from Denon on it right now. BTW, before the defective RX-V2300, I had a defective RX-V596 that a home owner bought for an install I was doing. So the last 3 Yamaha receiver I bought were defective so I don't trust them much more and put them in the same reliability category as Onyko, POOR.

Well if you really want to save some money you could look at the 3311. There was really no big upgrades with the 3312 except airplay was a 50 fee on the 3311 and it was free with the 3312. Also the 3312 can display GUI over 3D sources. The main reason I went with the 3311 after the 3312 came out was because it was cheaper and I didn't like the look of the 3312. Now if the 3313 comes out with XT32 then I would go for it.

3311 only had Multi-EQ while the 3312 has Multi-EQ XT. Not huge but significant.

I guess, I don't understand why everyone puts any thought into the front face design. It's not a beauty contest, it's electronics and function should be all that matters.

I looked at the AVR-3311CI but couldn't find it much less than what the AVR-3312CI goes for. Same thing with the AVR-2311CI against the AVR-2312CI, but the 2311 did lose ethernet networking. So I bought the AVR-2312CI with ethernet networking that the 2311 doesn't have for only about $20 more.

None the less, the AVR-3311CI is a great receiver and I would give up the XT version of Audyssey for it over in the 2312, but even the 3311 was a couple hundred more than what I paid for the 2312.

The Marantz 6006 is pretty much the same receiver with a different face and few different features. Even the display menus are the same between the Denon and Marantz.

My wife sees a piece of electronics and that's all she sees, is a piece of electronics. Hek, she thinks all the receivers look a like, the Denon AVR-3803, Denon AVR-2312CI and the Yamaha RX-A710.

Really like this AVR-2312CI so far. I don't hear a big difference opposed to the AVR-3803 which is a good thing since the AVR-3803 is one of the best receivers out there, just a bit obsolete. Plus I paid a good $340 less than I paid for the 3803 in 2003.

The 3311 has multieq XT.

I have it and it has been working flawlessly since I bought it last May/June.

If I could have afforded the extra cost, I've would have loved to get the marantz instead, very similar but I like the cleaner look of the marantz better.

Also regarding AirPlay, denon was giving it out for free to 3311 owners, don't know if they still are but all you had to do was send them an email and they sent you the upgrade code.

If you can afford it, the 4311 goes on sale every now and then for about the retail cost of the 3312. Multieq XT 32 is a big plus if you want to run two subs since it calibrates each sub independently.

As mentioned above the 3311 has XT. You might be thinking of the 3310 which only had MultEQ.

Are the Marantz and Denon the same as far as sound?
