Best time to buy Denon 2112?

Experts,

I bought MartinLogan MLT-2 speakers and looking out for A/V receivers and many people say Denon-2112 has lot of features. Currently prices are reduced as we are expecting Denon xx13 models.

My doubt is:-

What is the best time to buy Denon 2112. Now or after 2113 release so that prices will be down further? Currrently the price is around $400+
or
Should I go for Denon 2113?

I have 1712 in mind as it has MultiEq XT with 7.1 but adding extra $100 I will get lot of networking features.....

Will 2113 introductory price will be less than Denon 2112 price?

I am in confusion...Please guide me...

Frankly speaking, the best time to buy is when you need to buy. The waiting game is excruciating and we are not playing the stock mlt here with buy low/ sell high concepts. Are we?

It's for my personal use and taking to my home country....Would like to go for one time investment...Should not feel that I should have invested extra bucks for better brand/features...

Raj, did you get the 2112 or still waiting?

I am in the same boat.

And why did you go for the MLT2? have you considered/compared any other sets?

I just bought the 2112CI from EE for $403 shipped to my door. I don't think you can go wrong for that price.

I'm using it in the living room, which will only be a 3.1 system anyways, so I didn't need the greatest receiver around. I'll probably wait around and pick up a 13 model for the basement theater, when I get around to finishing that

Yeah, I'm thinking of picking one of these myself. I'm a college student with too many expensive hobbies for my demographic and typical lack of money, haha. I've been waiting for the receivers from last year to go down to upgrade my dysfunctional Pioneer 820-K. Huge upgrade for me.

Rajkumar,

In answer to your original question:
- No one knows if the price will go down any more on the 2112. If you wait too long hoping for a price drop, they'll eventually sell out.
- The introductory price on the 2113 will almost definitely NOT be as low (or even close, really) to the current best price of the 2113.

I called EE today to check on pricing and they were out of stock on the 2112 and the 2312. Called another reseller an was quoted same price for both 499.

Let me get this straight.. $499 for either one? Pick the 2312 then. That's $90 less than I paid two weeks ago. Which reseller? Are they Denon Authorized?

I called again to recheck. That is legit. Couple of 2112 in stock, and quite a few 2312. They also have 2113 in stock all of them listed at same price. Gonna jump on it, need to compare 2113 and 2312 now.

Thats what he said. They just got a shipment of 2312 in as well as 2113s. I had to call just to make sure i heard 499 and not 599.

I talked with JR yesterday and was told the same thing - same price for 2112 and the 2113. Didn't ask about the 2312... I wasn't planning on spending $500, but perhaps that's too good a deal to pass up? Which would you recommend? The 2312 or the 2113?

They only had a handful of 2112s left and the guy I talked to mentioned they would probably sell out today or tomorrow. He mentioned that they sold something like 50 2112s over the last few days. After calling a few other places I jumped on the 2113 as the closest I could get elsewhere was $520. I didn't ask about the 2312 so hopefully I didn't make a mistake there. I'll be running a 2.1 setup only and the reason I went with the xx13 was due to the AirPlay and zone 2 capabilities without needing an ATV.

I was desperately waiting for Denon 2112 price to reduce further to fit my budget...I saw denon Open box item for $495 in onecall and thought of negotiating as I didn't find much difference in price compared to 2112. Atlast they pushed me to go for new 2312 for $499 and it's on the way. Friday I will be receiving it. I ordered last Thursday.

I would like to explore more as I am a newbie and a one time investment. Even though 2312 is high-end, I can add expensive speakers and use 2312 for more power.

@blackscorpio: I had audition for Klipsch and didn't liked it. I found few positive feedbacks on MLT-2 in Amazon and deal in Newegg. I recommended MLT-2 over Energy TC5.1 to my friend and he liked MLT-2 very much and even his friend who is having Engery TC5.1 too accepted.

Even P.C Richard folks told I can't audition Polk speakers..... I didn't find any place where I can get mlt-2 audition....I read many reviews and bought it...

Wherever I read reviews abt xx13 models, people complaint that many features are missing which are used by lot of audiophiles.

I think by reading reviews.... xx13 models won't sell hot as xx12 models....It's purely my assumption....I may be 95% wrong.

JR told 2112 price as $450 last week. They were OK to reduce $10 I think....2112 should not be $499.99

It was 499. I didnt try to wheel and deal. I was happy for no tax and free shipping. When I called, EE was out of stock and didnt expect anymore. EE had the 2312 for $589 when I called. Going for the 2312 instead of 2113 at $499 (same price) is the way to go from what I have read. I am new at this so dont quote me on that. J&R had like 100 2312 in stock when I called and ordered.

I pulled the trigger on the 2112 today... bought from Onecall after negotiating the price down to $438 shipped (from $488). I would have liked to see it drop to $399, but I couldn't wait any longer. There wasn't anything in the 2312 that would justify an extra $60, so I decided not to upgrade.

Looking forward to testing it out next week!

I'm ready to buy the AVR2312CI--but everyone seems to have it for $598. Still a good deal, but it sounds like I can do better.

What's "EE"? (I'm not a regular here) and who/where should I call to get the $499 deal? Thanks in advance!

Call JR.com - they were the ones that quoted me (and others) $499 for the 2312. But be sure you need the step-up features of the 2312 before you pass over the 2112. It wasn't worth the $61 increase ($438 vs $499) to me.

I had the same experience. Terry (sp?) at J&R just sent me the 2312 at $499 including shipping. I saw Amazon has one 2112 left at $460 but the $40 seemed worth it at least for me.

do you remember the salesrep that you worked with? hoping for the same deal, i'm with you, i was hoping for $399 but if i can get $438, it's close enough
