I replaced my 13yo boxed reciever with a denon 1712 and the difference in sound quality is night and day. I haven't even ran MultiEQ yet and it sounds amazing.
edit: On my old reciever the highs were kinda bright and the mids were almost not there, didn't even sound like the woofers were moving on my klipsch vf-36. The full range of sound has improved.
