I was wondering if there is a in-ceiling speaker with the following recs:

1. 8-9" cutout diameter (6 1/2" woofer) with
2. aluminum dome positional tweeter

does such a speaker exist?

thanks

Try B&W CCM 816

I have the CCM 818. They are excellent, but expensive at $800 each. They have less expensive models as well.

Yes. http://www.rbhsound.com/mc615.php Has a pretty good f3 of 50hz. If you can squeeze a 9-3/4" cutout you could move up to this: http://www.rbhsound.com/mc815.php Very nice speakers. If we can help you, shoot us an email.

Why do you need an aluminum tweeter?

Well my current fronts are aluminum and therefore a few people have told me going aluminum with rears would be a good match. Thus I was looking for something similar but that is also positional. However, I am a bit restricted in size.

Rears don't really matter that much. Unless you're doing multichannel music I doubt you'd notice it for HT use.

it doesn't matter. what are your fronts?

I'm using these:http://www.paradigm.com/products/pro...ries/sa-15r-30
A little large than you wanted (10" diam cutout). Not sure what your budget is, but they were about $1250/pr

Let's focus on why the OP wanted aluminum tweeters in the first place.

I don't know why I was the first to even ask why? This should have been the first response given the question.

Let's wait to hear from the OP on what brand and model their fronts are.

The tweeter is not what you need to be focusing on. The sensitivity, nominal impedence and power handling are far more important parameters to match than the tweeter material.

I already told him that it probably doesn't matter. Why so angry?

thanks for the replies. I currently have energy take twr as my fronts and take fps as center. I looked at energy's 6c eas series as rears but then wanted to see if there was something positional.

The Energy's would be the best fit. It doesn't really matter that they rotate if the speakers are positioned correctly. Especially when used as rear speakers.
