How to mount speakers Pioneer SP-BS41-LR

Hope this is the right place. I got the Pioneer SP-BS41-LR speaker kit and having a hard time figuring out a way to mount them. I just have a framed projector screen on my wall and want to mount the speakers around it. I thought i would be able to find some shelves but it's proven to be harder than i thought. the sides need to be like 8" by 9" and that shape shelf just doesn't exist.
I was just wondering if anyone here had any creative ways to mount bigger speakers without mounting on the back. I'm thinking i might have to get custom glass cut but thought i would see if anyone else had any cool ideas.

I cut my own shelves out of some wood I had lying around and simply sprayed them black. Because of the low overall weight of the speaker I was able to use a single black shelving bracket and some anchors to hold it up. This isn't really cool or fancy (it's cheap, quick, and dirty really ), but maybe seeing it will spark something. Glass would sure look a lot more refined.

I'm looking into this as well, I'm using the BS41 as my surrounds but I have couch up to the side walls so I need to mount them on the walls at an angle. My current surrounds I have a bracket that screws into the back of the speaker cabinet, so I've though of just taking those mounts and doing that with these, but I'm afraid I'll "compromise the structural integrity" of the speakers...

I ended up going to IKEA and getting their shelf kit. You buy the brackets to mount the shelf and they mount on the ends of the shelf so you can cut the shelves to our liking and then the brackets cover the cut part. It ended up working really well an they have a few different size brackets and boards sitting there. This is what the brackets look like http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90136136/ You can see how the board fits in the bracket instead of resting on the bracket.

Don't know if you already mounted the speakers, but G Wiz makes speaker shelves custom made so you can specify how big you want it:

You can buy some oak shelving boards that are perhaps 4 feet by one foot and either saw them to the exact size you want or have the building supply place where you buy them cut them to your size for a small fee.

I think that the best way to mount them is just get large plain right-angle flat steel brackets and mount the bracket so the upper part screws to the wall behind the speaker and then the lower part of the bracket comes out under the shelf to support it. That way the hardware is mostly hidden.

Something else that works well is to get the rubber shelf liner material they sell at RV stores and put a sheet of that between the bottom of the speaker and the shelf.

I am also in this boat. I want to ceiling mount these. I'm looking at the omnimount and I'll have to screw the bracket right into the speaker wood. Any thoughts for or against this?

Thanks!

I'd also like to hang my Sp-41's either horizontally or vertically as surrounds. Typically I can pull a speaker out and install a threaded T-Nut inside of the cabinet to prevent a fastener from pulling out. Tried pulling out the speaker connect panel on the back for a look into the cabinet but NO-GO. Has anyone tried to pull a driver out or removing the perforated metal grille? Thanks AVS team.

to the top...

i just ordered these speakers and want to know how t mount them too..

What I did was bash a hole in my dry wall with a hammer and I just stuffed the speakers in there. I know this technically makes them in-wall speakers, but I don't feel the imaging has suffered much.

I have also had success in the past using these AM40 Pinpoint mounts, but the hole-via-hammer-bashing is a less expensive method of speaker mounting.

Hyghwayman's solution here for a BS21 might work for some http://www.avsforum.com/t/604394/please-join-and-post-what-speakers-you-have/3060#

Why so serious, son? Personally I'd use AM40s but do you have studs to mount to?

I'll need to use a stud finder to locate studs so im uncertain right now. i was reading reviews of the AM40s and they are somewhat mixed about the quality of the mounts and the hardware being inconsistent.

Quality of mine was fine, only issue might be the curved sides of your speakers for the side plates to grip but unless you tilt to a great degree shouldn't be an issue, just use the rubber pads and tighten as much as you can. They're very clean looking mounts, too.

thanks for the info. my understanding is that these mounts are only intended to hold the speaker upright. The speakers cannot be mounted horizontally if they were mounted on the ceiling.

Are there any ceiling / horizontal mounts out there for these pioneer speakers? I dont have any walls to mount from as they are too far out so i need to mount form the ceiling.

thanks

I saw some pics here on AVS of one guy who converted the AM40s to a ceiling mount but you'd have to drill into the speakers or add some sort of support strap or similar. Not sure what you mean horizontally, the speakers should be oriented vertically as intended. Another alternative is to drill into the speaker and use a mount like the OmniMounts (and if using Omni Mounts I recommend going to a higher weight than spec'd; I use these mounts also (I have the 10.0 & 20.0 in a few different versions). What kind of ceiling? You got pics for people to see what you are working with?

these are the mounts that ive been hearing a lot about and recommended:

B-Tech Ultragrip Pro Loudspeaker Wall Mount (BT77)

Pinpoint AM40 wallmounts-hold heavier bookshelf speakers-wall mounted

Since my set up is in a large room there is no near by adjacent wall thats why i'm going to ceiling mount my speakers. These mounts above are intended to be wall mounted. i understand that i may be able to modify them to get them to work. since these pioneer speakers have been out for awhile i wanted to see what type of set up folks have and if anyone did ceiling mount them. instead of having them mounted upright (vertically) - i wanted to mount them sideways (horizontally) if that makes sense.

no pictures yet of the area. ill make some measurements and take pics later if htat helps.

Let's back up. What position speakers are these? I was assuming fronts (L/R from what you said, not sure what you're doing for the center). By set do you mean a pair, three, five, seven? As far as mounting vertically that's because the speaker is designed that way, altho center channel speakers are usually intended for a horizontal position.
