Def Tech Pro 1000 or Aim8 three for rear???

Hello all!! Newbie here....

I was out shopping for a Bose system, walked into Magnolia and realized how much bigger the spectrum is, when it comes to audio systems and quality...

I ended up buying a Def. Tech. combo (center = CS-8060HD; front L&R = BP-8040ST Floorstanding Speakers). The company promo gave me $500 credit towards any speakers for my rear....

MY OPTIONS....
  1. 2 SpeakCraft Aim8 three speakers (in-ceiling and therefore wifey approved) for $800
  2. 2 Def Tech Pro 1000 speakers for $480 with mounting brackets
My problem is that I do not have a back wall and therefore, I go with the Def Techs, running the wire would be a hassle....I may have to buy a rug to cover it up....Also, I have railings behind the counch and I would need to build a panel on each side, onto which I can mount the speakers...

Def Techs speakers are cheaper but the whole job could run more because of a possible rug, cost to build mounting panels,...). Therefore, both options would probably end up costing the same....

Is it important to keep the system consistent with the same brand of speakers? What are your thoughts on my situation? What would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!!

Just going by what you have listed I can saftley say your referring to surrounds ( as in sides) as aposed to rear surrounds ( .. behind the seating area, used for 7.1/7.2 & such) ?? For surrounds you want them on the side of the seating area as aposed to "behind" so is mounting the Def. Techs on the side walls an option ?? If so then all you have to do is tuck the wire underneath the trim ( assumeing there is trim that is) and then fish the wire up threw the side walls.

I would reccomend going with the Def. Tech Pro 1000's then, that is if you have the side walls to mount them. If thats not an option then going with "paln B" as using the ceiling speakers may be your only option. Using the same brand/model for surrounds is not as important as using the same for the front three ( L/C/R ) so you will be fine with either choice.

Thank you for your response!

Please see attached a bad photo of the railings separating my tv room from the kitchen....

In order to install the DF ProMonitor 1000s, I would have to build a small panel between two rails and mount them there....

In-ceilings are easier, but I thought the 1000s sounded better than the Aim8s...

So, the million $$ question - do you all think the DT 1000s are worth the additional work?
