Thanks. Any other owners want to add to the list of what router is being used that is working without issue?

Cisco WRT-100 - Router

Cisco WRT-54G - Wireless Bridge

Cisco Linksys E3200. No lockups and no resets since being setup.

Cable Modem is a Motorola SURFboard eXtreme.

EZ setup, totally user friendly. Well, for me anyways. biggrin.gif

Question. After Audyssey setup, my sub seems a little heavy when watching cable TV, but when I listen to Pandora or other music, I like it a little hotter. Can I boost the sub for just one input on the 2113? I actually had to turn down the gain on the sub itself as the -12 setting wasn't low enough for watching TV but now it seems a little soft for music.
I love this thing, I just want it to be perfect.
Thanks,
Pat

Yep, did exactly that and ran Audyssey twice. I think the 12'o clock thing is too high for my sub for some reason (energy S10.3). It's at about 11 now. The crossover is defeated on the sub and controlled only by the receiver. Its crossed at 80 and the LPF is 120 as recommended by the poster earlier. I love bass but it's overbearing on TV shows.

The jist of that writeup is that ideally after running AUTO SETUP you want the sub trim set closer to 0db than -12db which may require lowering the sub gain to 9 o'clock or even lower ... the 12 o'clock setting is just a good starting point. What is your sub trim set to with the gain at 11 o'clock? Also note that if you are using Dyn EQ which boosts the bass/surround audio at master volume levels below 0db, for music and TV shows especially you can set the Reference Level Offset to 10db to reduce the sub/surround boost which will improve the dialog clarity.

ypu need to keep turning the gain on your sub down and running audyssey until you get the trim to be greater than -12...

OK, will do. That makes perfect sense. So after that is done right, can I change individual inputs to the level I like if needed?

You can change the "Source Level" setting which would affect all speaker levels, however, for individual speaker level adjustments you can use a Quick Select to accomplish that task, although before doing so try using the Reference Level Offset or the brand new "Dialog Level" settings to see if either/both resolves your issue.

@jd...

lol! biggrin.gif

@pat... yup... although once adjusted, you might want to address your overbearing bass via deq and offset, as jd suggested...

It's old but I've not had any issues with it:

On the latest firmware. A power pull and plug it fixed it and I haven't had the issue since. But I don't use any of the other zones, just the 6 HDMI inputs to a single main HDMI out to my Samsung PN63B590 Plasma. I didn't call Denon support but if it happens enough, I'm hoping that there will be a new fix out soon. It looks like replacing the unit(s) doesn't work as it seems that it's not hardware related but firmware.

Sorry to hear about your similar 3313ci lockup, but hopefully as more of us start experiencing this problem Denon will be able to identify its cause and fix it with a firmware update. Unfortunately for troubleshooting purposes, the lockup does not seem to be readily reproducible.

With my 3313ci lockups, I was making an initial assumption that the problem might be related to my use of Zone2 HDMI output since, at the time, I was heavily exercising the Zone2 capabilities of the 3313ci. In fact, I was sending both my MasterZone HDMI output and my Zone2 HDMI output to the same monitor, albeit to different HDMI input jacks on that monitor. I've backed off of that unconventional multi-zone setup with my replacement 3313ci in order to see if the lockup recurs with a more conventional Zone2 setup, i.e., I now have a second, separate monitor as the HDMI sink for the Zone2 output. Things were OK for a number of days with this setup, but then the lockup occurred again yesterday. And now, with your report that you've experienced a 3313ci lockup without any multi-zone use whatsoever, it seems my initial assumption about the possible cause of the problem was certainly wrong.

Anyway, I suspect that we'll be hearing of more instances of the 3313ci becoming completely unresponsive in a powered-on state.

What routers are other XX13 model owners using that have experienced no networking issues whatsoever? And is it connected by wire or wirelessly? If wirelessly, what WiFi bridge is being used?

In regards to network lockups - I am using a Netgear N600 3400v2 with the Denon 1913 - I have had the receiver for five weeks with no lockups. The router is hardwired to the receiver. I previously purchased the 1912, and returned the original as well as the replacement 1912 due to constant network lockups. Got tired of crawling behind the media center to unplug/replug. I did not touch the network settings prior to swapping out the 1912 for the 1913. The networking in the 1913 does appear to be completely reworked though - so maybe that is the difference. The one issue I have had with the 1913 is the airplay - I have to make sure I exit out via the receiver prior to switching out of network mode. Otherwise airplay functionality has been flawless. Hope this helps.

Hi guys, I have the Denon 2113CI and I am having an issue with switching inputs.

For example if I am watching tv and I want to play my xbox, when I switch the input from cable to xbox, the tv tells me there is no signal, even though the Xbox is on.

Then I must turn off the Denon and turn it right back on and it recognizes the input.

Is anyone else having this issue?

NETWORK RESET

Although not listed in the Owner's manual, a "Network reset" can be done using the below listed procedure on the 1613 and higher which will not only reset the network card but will also do a microprocessor reset in the process and return all settings to their factory defaults (so SAVE those config files from the 1713 and higher if not already done).

1 - Turn off the power using ON/STANDBY.

2 - Simultaneously press the "Zone 2 Source" and "Dimmer" buttons on the front panel and then press the ON/STANDBY button on the front panel.

3 - Once the display starts flashing at intervals of about 1 second, release the two buttons (hold for at least 4-5 seconds).

** If in step 3 the display does not flash at intervals of about 1 second, start over from step 1.

This unknown "network reset" just saved my life... my 2113ci had locked up pretty bad, wasn't giving me any video output, was constantly trying to update, and the normal microprocessor reset wasn't doing anything. Thanks!

This is an HDMI handshake which is quite common with cable boxes and may require power cycling components to work correctly or connecting the cable box (HDMI) directly to the TV with cable box (optical) to the AVR. At the very least, try powering off the cable box before powering on the xBox.

Thanks guys. I will get the calibration right by turning down the sub gain to 9 or so and then try the deq function if needed.
I will post back when I get it done in hopes it may help others in the same boat.
Man I love there forums!

I just picked up a 1913 and I am having an issue getting the GUI to display. I have a 32" samsung 2010, series 4 LCD TV and it works fine. I hook it up to any HDMI input of my 50" samsung series 6 2009 plasma and I get No signal. When I goto the web setup I can see that it detects the resolutions of my TV. I have tried 4 different HDMI cables and all 4 HDMI ports. Any ideas? Using latest firmware on TV.
In my case, I have two HDMI's hooked up. One to HDMI 1 (cable box > TV) and one to HDMI 2; AVR > TV. To see cable box video content, I switch to source HDMI 1 and to see the receiver's GUI, while the receiver is powered up, I use the TV's remote control to switch to source; HDMI 2. If the receiver isn't powered up, the TV won't see HDMI 2 as active for switching to.

Do you have a connection between the TV and the AVR so the two can communicate via the video signal?

Hope the above helps.

Try setting HDMI-CEC (Anynet+) on the 50" TV to OFF. Also try powering on the TV, then AVR, then source to minimize any HDMI handshake issues.

Just tried that also and still no go.

Does this happen with all sources unable to pass video to the 50" TV? Have you tried resetting both the TV and the AVR?

Oh My -- would you believe me if I told you I had 5 bad HDMI cables? Just pulled out an old old 20 foot junky one and it is working. All these other HDMI's work fine with CABLE/PS3/360/HTPC.....

Stranger things have happened. Order a new set of HDMI cables from either of forum sponsors Monoprice or Blue Jeans Cables.

This has happened to me before as well. I've had cables that worked fine on some of my stuff and not on others, I actually bought 5 new high speed HDMI cables from newegg especially for this new receiver hookup. They were about $4 a piece. Watch out for the thickness of thei monoprice high speed cables; if you have issues with behind the receiver clearance, some of these things are really thick like min garden hoses! I buy almost all of my stuff there but noted the thickness to be an issue.

Bought a 2113CI coming from a 790 that was damaged in a power outage. Is there anyway when listening to Stereo I can get the sub to work also? It only works when listening with Movie mode selected.

That being said the unit shines when watching blue ray or surround content.

set your speakers to small...
set the xover to at least 80hz...
don't use direct/pure direct...

that should get you what you want...
