^^
This usually occurs when HDMI CEC is enabled on the TV (eg. Anynet+, BraviaSync, VieraLink, AquosLink, etc.).

And I know of no way to turn this off on my Samsung LN40B610A5F. I believe it can't be turned off on some TVs like mine. The duel volume control on screen is the norm for me and was present before and after the firmware update.

Here is a link of pg. 48 of your manual for some trouble shooting. You can play around with your settings to see if you can make the extra volume display go away. You may need to reprogram your Harmony after, or not.

Also in the GUI section on your avr menu there is a Volume control setting that will allow you to shift the volume display to the top or turn it off completely.

Thanks for finding this page. I don't think I am having any problem with Anynet+ being turned on. It doesn't bother me that there are two volume indicators on the screen at the same time. The person that was bothered by this was "parlyle".

Is there some reason that I should turn Anynet+ off?
Oops replied to wrong poster. If all is working fine for you then there is no reason to turn off Anynet+ to off.

Any way I can solve this problem at home? I'd rather not have to send it in. All help is appreciated.

Review post #5 of this thread and SAVE the config file to a PC and then reset the microprocessor to see if that will resolve your issue.

I then have to slide the remote switch to ‘tv’, turn on the power button and the set top box and the tv comes on. Then, the problem. The screen comes up on the tv normally. After about 5 seconds the screen goes blank. I have to press ‘cbl/sat’ on the denon remote to get the picture back. I use the hdmi control to ‘on’. I’ve tried just about every setting and it still does this. Frustrating.

The issue is caused by using ARC ....

Is there a way to save/backup the settings on an AVR1713 using the web interface? The "normal" web interface at http://AVR-IP/MainZone/index.html appears to be working fine although quite slowly.
However, http://AVR-IP/SETUP/f_setup.asp which should provide access to a backup menu only comes up with the attached screenshot, regardless of browser and OS.

Haven't yet tried to reset the processor, since I wanted to backup the settings first smile.gif

Does the above work for you? Appreciate any help.

Try a different browser.

I reset it both via the "soft reset" and then through resetting the microprocessor and I still have the exact same "static popping" noise which isnt too noticeable but for someone who wants to listen to quality music via Airplay playing at 320kbps, I can definitely notice it. I can also still hear the pops at the same part of a set of songs with my headphones plugged into the receiver.

What should I do now?

Try disconnecting all wires/connections to/from the AVR and reconnect.

I'm considering the 1913 but I'm curious about playing music over the network. I want people to be able to control what's playing through their iPhones from outside.

1. Does the phone need a Denon app to play music or can I just connect to wifi and fire up Pandora or a mp3 and have it play?

2. What happens if two people try playing something at the same time?
1. Well .. you need some kind of app ... either Denon remote app, 3rd party remote app, or for streaming from the phone ... Pandora, SiriusXM, Airplay, etc.
2. Did you see what happened in Ghostbusters when the streams were crossed? eek.gif

The OM is a little hard to understand, but after reading through it, I'm concluding that when running 5.1 in the "Main Zone", an outboard amp is not necessary, but when running 7.1, an external amp is needed. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance.

Yup. Correct on both counts.

I didn't think AirPlay was an app - just a feature of iOS. Is that not the case? I use a blackberry so I don't know much about iOS.
It's basically a system app in the iOS, at least an update. Click an icon on the music player and it streams to the stereo. I think it also works from a pc with itunes, but I haven't tried that yet.

I Need some help! Just picked up a new 1713 for $279! Loving it except I am having issues with the ipod input. The first 2 times I used it, it worked but was glitchy. It kept jumping back and forth between being able to be controlled through the ipod itself, and the TV only. Then it just stopped working all togeher. It just says NO CONNECTION now every time I try to use it. I tested 2 different cables that are both functional, so I know its not that.

Did I miss something in the settings? I looked but couldn't find anything. Shouldn't it just work?

I am thinking it might be defective.

Any advice on this would be great.

Does the USB port on AVR-3313 offer asynchronous mode?
I have my 1713 running Def. Tech. Promonitor 800's (L/R), a Procenter 1000, and a Prosub 800. I do not have rear speakers yet.

I have all speakers set to SMALL. Is this the right setting?

Also, What should I have my crossovers set at for this setup?

Yes.

Leave LPF for LFE at default setting of 120 Hz. I have my system crossover set at 110 Hz (KEF iQ30 front/iQ10 rear and Rythmik F12SE sub). Default is 80 Hz. but experiment with it to find best setting for your system.

1.Just to add to your other posters replies. All iPhones 3gs and higher as well as iPads, iPod touches and any iTunes computer or Laptop can stream wireless over your wi-fi network using Airplay. The Airplay icon will appear without having to add any app as it is incorporated in iTunes and on your apple devices. You just need to enter your wi-fi password to engage Airplay. Since you mentioned outside and if you plan to use separate speakers for zone 2 you could add an Apple Tv for around a hundred bucks and use it to stream different apple content from the main zone from an apple device or itunes to zone 2.
BTW check out pg.1 of this Forum if you haven't already and check out all the differences in models as you may want to consider the 2113ci over the 1913.

2. If you do not stop your apple device or iTunes before entering another activity it will continue to play but will jam the avr and force you to unplug it for a few minutes.

What did the AVR set the speaker crossovers to when you ran Audyssey? If < 80Hz then raise them to 80Hz, if > 80Hz then leave them as is. Review the Audyssey 101/FAQ Guide linked in my sig for additional help.

Has anyone figured out how these damn 3D glasses operate? I turn them on, they don't work. I reseat the battery multiple times before they work, then I turn them off (or back to 2D) and then even 10 minutes later I have to reseat the battery 10 times to get them to work again. Has anyone gotten a handle on how to operate them correctly?

disclaimer for sexual intellectual, NOT tuffluck: I do NOT own a 3313, but, I'm pretty sure it didn't come with 3D glasses...what BRAND/Model are they?

You're posting in the Denon AVR-XX13 Owner's thread rather than one of the 3D video threads which would be more appropriate.

Predominantly for the potential of improvement in sound quality over bog-standard USB ports but also including, but not limited to the possible potential for:
  1. Upgrade to multi-channel FLAC file usage (ala, DBT-3313 recent firmware upgrade)
  2. Upgrade to .DFF format DSD file usage
