Wondering, does this work to wirelessly stream to another location; in ohter words, does it need to be "headphones"?

How is the wireless signal transmitted to the headphones?

Yes to another location and no to only headphones, just as long as you've got a "powered" speaker. Something like this would work just as well. The Zone 2 preouts are connected to a wireless transmitter (via 3.5mm to RCA cable in the case of the Amazon setup) which sends the audio to the wireless speaker/headphones. I use Sennheiser RS-140 (discontinued), however, they make a good line of wireless headphones.

As is always the case, depends on what your feature/input/output requirements are and if there's something you want that the newer model offers not found on the older model as well as what you're looking to improve from what the 635 offers.

That's pretty cool. I think i'll be doing that with my 2312ci. I know this is the XX13 thread but it came up and still applies to either I suppose. There appears to be only one speaker? Is it mono?

The amazon link even has the 3.5mm to RCA adaptor as a suggested but together.. Maybe because of their algorythms and the fact that I still have several Denon AVR's in my Cart or mabye just because.. Who knows but it is a bit creapy..

Getting happier by the day in my decision to not put out $300+ in fixing my 889 but rather upgrading it for just a few clams more.

I haven't finished set up yet.. Haven't even run Audyssey but I've tweaked speaker settings quickly to closely match SPL and distance. I know I won't have time to get to this until this weekend at the earliest. We're in the middle of a remodel of our master bedroom and I'm the labor so that takes precedence or I'll be moving into the doghouse.

One thing I noticed is that it is 4½ pounds lighter than the 889. As set up now it sounds about the same as my 889 when I didn't run audyssey between multiple processor resets to try to get the HDMI working correctly again just a few weeks ago but you can't really remember with accuracy what you heard. The 889 had powered Zone 2 speaker posts (9 pair total) but I didn't use them because I have a 7.1 system and there was only 7 amps. The 23XX has line level out which I will be using in tandum with the android app for a set of speakers outside or maybe in the new master bedroom.

Following the format I used for the 33xx models, here's a detailed comparison of 2312ci vs. 2313ci:

--- Both have 7 speaker posts and dual subwoofer RCA pre-outs

--- Both have 2 assignable component video inputs + 1 output
--- Both have 2 digital coax + 2 optical audio inputs (all assignable)
--- Both have Zone 2 pre-outs and one analog REC OUT

Probably wrong forum but what is Audyssey DSX? All the others are tweaks that don't matter to me in getting the 2312 but that one I'm not sure about.

Also is the amp power shown above correct for the 23XX?

Oh. How's that differ from the front wide and front height in current AVR's? I'm not moving my speakers again, though. I'm sticking with rears in my 7.1.

It doesn't (at least for current AVR's that use DSX, Pioneer and I think Yamaha have their own proprietary "wide speaker" processing).

Okay. I will do it differently next time to help keep the threads clean. If it applies to both will only focus on it as occurs for that particular M.Y. the applicable thread... maybe x-linked between them. As I see it DSX applies additional filters to Dolby PLIIz? Or does it do its thing even without PLIIz? I couldn't find that in the time I spent looking at it on Audyssey's website.

DD PLIIz - front height only (Dolby's technology)

DSX - front height and front wide (Audyssey's technology)


In regards to the front height speakers, these are competing techologies. The front height positions for each technology are in different locations.

The thing is that the XX12 thread is almost a year old and virtually every question you ask has already been discussed in that thread ... using "Search This Thread" would likely get you answers much quicker. Let's let the XX13 owners ask the questions as they apply to their models.

Purchased the 2113ci from Denon today. It will be nice having hdmi 1.4, coming from a 987 this will be a much needed improvement. Thanks for everyone's advice over the last few days.
