NYC TWC to FIOS and which DVR?

I'm sick of Time Warner. $260/month for a really buggy DVR, a horrible interface, crap programming, and average internet speed.

I'm thinking FIOS and have been going through the various options. Looks like the TiVo option instead of the Fios DVR makes sense.

I have 2 tv's. But rarely watch the one in the bedroom. Do I need a FIOS set top box for the bedroom or does TiVo have some kind of extender box?

Also can TiVo get FIOS On Demand yet?

Any other tips appreciated.
