Question about Panasonic L32C5 and IPS panel

Hi guys, this is my first post, so hopefully you will bear with me. Im looking at buying a 32 inch Tv for the bedroom, and the Panasonic L32C5 ($299) caught my eye. I haven't been able to find out much about this specific model, but the L32C3 with very similar specs seems to have an IPS Alpha panel. Does anyone know if the C5 has the same panel? Is this a worthwhile purchase as far as budget 32 inchers go? Thanks in advance.

The 32" C5 is outsourced and does not have an IPS panel as did the C3.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure it really even matters when buying a budget 32" TV, but I just don't want to buy garbage. It has been a few years since I have looked at TVs, and it seems that every 32" available to me is made with not very high quality components. Is there a consensus on which manufacturers low model TVs use the highest quality components? Or at this price point is it all pretty much the same and its a personal preference thing.

the C5 has a slightly bigger/uglier bezel than the C3, definitely does NOT use an IPS panel (it has typical lcd viewing angles), drops the SD card slot, and replaces the digital optical audio out found on all Panny sets with a digital coaxial. To get a "real" Panny set, you need to step up to the X5.

The Panasonic TC-L32C5, ans well as the TC-L42U5, is made by Compal for Panasonic, with panel screens made by Chi-Mei. I saw this TV in person, and the picture-quality is garbage-looking. Colors are weak and washed out, speaker quality is inferior, and power supply is small and cheap-looking.

Toshiba 32C120U is also made by Compal, and it sells for less than Panasonic. It uses a AU Optronics panel screen, which has a better picture quality than Chi-Mei. Last year, Consumer Reports rated the 32C110U the highest in picture quality for low-end 32" size.

Thanks for the info. So after looking around some more, I found a 32" Toshiba 32SL410U LED for $294. Would the same info you gave me about the 120U apply to this TV? I also found a Panasonic C3 with the IPS panel for $349. Which of these would be a better TV?
