I know we can get frustrated with the behavior of movie studios and their seemingly irrational fears but I do have an honest question about movie copyrights and business models.
If a movie studio can make even MORE money by taking their existing content and creating demo discs, then why not ? How many entities need to give permission ? Is it just a logistic nightmare to get everyone that needs to be onboard to get onboard ?
Let's say the demand is not high enough for the studios, I'm sure some smaller niche operation would cater to this small market not deemed worthy by the major studios and create demo discs for sale once they have access to their vaults. How about demo discs on demand that is fully automated online for an even higher premium ?
I really would like to understand more about the logistics behind getting a studio to allow someone to sell a niche product like this. There are around 8000 searches every month on Google for "blu ray demo disc". The demand is there !
