Just wanted to know whether or not optical audio supports DD+?

It supports Dolby digital 5.1

DD Plus is supported by HDMI 1.3 and higher.

The issue is not truly one of "support." TOSLINK optical has the bandwidth to carry two channels of 24 bit 96 kHz audio (~4.5 Mbps), so it could carry most Dolby Digital Plus bit streams. But Dolby Digital Plus does not allow S/PDIF output, only HDMI 1.3 output.

How will the avr decode the netflix stream of dd+ when connected via toslink? In dd 5.1? Would I even get audio? Thanks guys!
