Obviously the TV goes on the rightmost wall. But where should the surrounds go to get the best sound for movies? On the wall, or in the ceiling? From everything I've read, in-ceiling speakers tend to be a compromise.
It's hard to tell from that drawing, but probably on the left and right walls. How far from each speaker would you be when seated?
I found a video I took on my phone of an open house a few months ago with the same floor plan as the house I ended up buying (but a mirror image). You can catch a couple glimpses of the areas in question.
Someone else recommended to me the bipole/dipole Verus speakers since those are designed to be wall-mounted and blend pretty well with the Verus Grand fronts/center, which I'll be buying. Do you think it would work if I placed those above the closet and sliding glass doors, on the left/right walls?
