I had no idea this was happening:

Looks like a solid enough transfer. Always had a soft spot for this one.

Oh Yeah !!! Roddy Mc Dowell telling Belasco off is the absolute high point for me . The near constant showings on the fox movie channel has not spoiled my love of this film . America needs a domestic release of this (and WestWorld)

And here, since this seems to be the thing to do:

I love this movie. I'd love a US release of this. Why does Europe get all the good catalog titles?

One of my favorites.

Region free is the only way to go. There are several relatively inexpensive options out there. I got the hardware mod for the Oppo 83, works like a charm. Plays any blu-ray or dvd.

Mein Deutsch is a bit rusty, but doesn't that title say "Dance of the Deadhead"?

Either way, I've never seen this. What's the film like?

Well, Death's Head really, which sounds a bit cooler I know very little German, but I know that.

As far as the movie goes, here is a pretty good take on it:

It has some genuinely creepy visuals, moments, and character and sexual tension that hold up to this day. Without question though, there are plenty of pretty goofy moments also, and maybe none goofier than the ultimate confrontation at the end of the film, and yet, I love it.

Anyone know how this looks in comparison to the HDNET broadcast? I'm tempted, but not sure it's worth bothering with.

I would say 'as soon as I buy it, the American release will come out', but that hasn't worked for me in the case of The 13th Warrior, so I might go for it. I don't have a hard drive full of HDNET files, so if you do, post a screenshot.

Well, a year went by, and no Region A release, I decided to pull the trigger. Slowly retiring every DVD that I can.

What little I have seen of LOHH looks promisng pq wise so I would like a Region A along with the original film/book it was 'updated' from 'The Haunting'.

I just played 'around the world on Amazon', picking up the UK Arrow release of Zombie, the UK Company of Wolves steelbook, the Italian Dellamorte Dellamore, the Canadian release of Fido (region A, just less convenient wink.gif) and the German release of Hell House. Maybe region A will catch up eventually, but being region free lets me be impatient.

This showed up on Netflix streaming a few months ago. Watched it in SuperHD and it looked pretty good. Don't know if it's the same transfer, but it was very film-like, with appropriate grain for a film its age, no visible dirt or print damage and nice color. Never saw the film before and thoroughly enjoyed its old fashioned, haunted house charms.
