Need help to decide. 2nd AVR onkyo 809 or Sonos?

I have a sony 2400ES in my entertainment room for 5.1 set up. I am setting up some kind of network sound solution in the living room. Main objective would be to allow for on demand music playing from my collection (sitting in a NAS and in a macmini htpc), and control via a smart phone (ios and android).

I am also setting up a new TV in the living room, but I can live with the built in speaker, and a 2nd AVR is not required.

So.. now I am debating the scenario:

1) Just get a 2nd network enabled AVR, like the Onkyo 809. so both my TVs are hooked up to AVR. And the 809 give me the benefits of streaming from pandora, etc.. as well as have an android app that I can control the avr, as well as stream music to.. However, I don't think it will stream music from my music library on my macmini or NAS as easily. (compare to sonos).. or am i wrong???

OR

2) skip the 2nd AVR... as my TV in the living room would only have limited input, and probably minimal (if any) external speakers... and get the Sonos Play 5. From the review.. it seems like a great system that can stream your music library / online music anytime, and control it via your iphone/android. Another benefit is that it doesn't draw as much power (i believe) by leaving it on all the time in stand by, waiting for me to start on my phone..... compare to leaving the onkyo 809 on all the time...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

You may have more luck in the Sonos forum, but I think you'd be happiest with the Sonos for your immediate needs. I have a Play5 in a open-floorplan living room and it sounds pretty good. Sonos can't be beat for ease of use -- it's essentially plug and play with a NAS. The iOS and Android control apps are fantastic. It does play Pandora. Eventually, you can get a Connect for your 5.1 system and then expand into other rooms as well. I have 7 Sonos zones right now, including bedrooms, patio, HT, workshop, kitchen, and the living room.

My suggestion, two appleTV's. That's a total cost of $200 and it will find your library anywhere you have it on itunes. Awesome GUI, iphone app for FULL Control of the unit, and will be streaming the library directly from your pc so any updates will be real-time. I currently use one in my theater on a denon 3311 which also controls two other zones that I can switch on and off via the denon app, then the second apple tv on my upstairs TV which I can either choose to play the same music as the other, or a different source or library should I want it to. My friends love it as well bc if they have a song they want to play, and are on my wireless network, they can pop it right on from the deck, or kitchen or wherever

You can also play your music directly from your phone if you wanted (just as my friends do on theirs sometimes)

the appleTV will also give you the ability to youtube, netflix, and several other things straight from the source. It's one of the best kept secrets out there for networking your libraries

Hmmm.. interesting idea...

But that also means I have to turn on my TV when i want to listen to music?? or at least have some kind of speaker system that hooks to the ATV all the time?
