Here's my problem: I watch a variety of Standard Definition and High Definition content in 16:9 and in 4:3. So, most of the guides online (including the threads on this site) aren't that helpful because they assume the viewer is watching only HDTV in 16:9 or only SDTV in 4:3. I'm watching both, and for now at least, I'm watching HDTV 35% of the time and SDTV for the other 65%. Also, some of my SD content is in 16:9, which complicates things I think. However, I think in the future, more of my content will be HD, but I can't really be sure. Of course, when viewing distance is kept constant, SD looks better on a smaller screen than HD would look.
Is it possible to choose a screen size that will give me the best of both worlds? Or should I just try to maximize the benefits of one resolution over the other? Have any of you had this dilemma? How did you handle it?
My viewing distance is somewhere between 100-110 inches (probably 105). I was thinking of buying a 46" or 55" LED. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
