Official Samsung UNxxES7500 thread - Page 9

Hello,

I have not found official es7000 thread so i've put this post here

I have UE46ES7000 with 46A2UF1E panel and ALPS_TC2 tuner

Could I ask someone to put screenshots from service menu from model UN46ES75000 (especially from ADC/WB menu) ? - only for compare.

I screw up calibration and i trying to get orginal - vibrant colors. After some tries i get almost good picture - but i've got verry flat orange color. Red seems good.

I calibrate ADC/WB with chess pattern (on tv and HDMI), but if red, green, and blue seems to be ok .... orange color is less vibrant then it supose to be.

Another thing - before i've enter into service menu TV in 3D mode and GAME mode was about 50% brighter (even tv was on dynamic mode and backlight was 20)... now it seems to be the same.

And another thing... on analog tv picture seems to be overgained (more noise, crispness).

Is there any posibility to get access to expert menu ? - i was trying ruSamsungTVCommunicator_V0.0.14.0 but without any success.

THX for help

Regards !

Hey all....I just picked up a 46ES7500 yesterday and am planning on getting it set up tonight. I haven't taken it out of the box just yet but I did pull the manual and review it briefly. The remote looks interesting, but since a have a Harmony One I probably won't use the Samsung remote. I was just curious if any one has a ES7500 set up on a Harmony One remote? Any unusual things I need to know?

Thanks in advance.smile.gif

Yep, the "TV" warm up takes a long time to complete. In the Harmony settings I had to extend the warm up time to 18 seconds otherwise the Harmony would try to change inputs for the TV before it was ready.

This doesn't really matter if you never use the "TV input" as such, and you watch television through another source (like TiVo) as I now do.Then you can drop it to 15seconds or less. I use the Harmony 900.

Thanks for the reply....getting ready to set up the remote now show I look into the delay time.

Ok....I got my 7500 set up and I'm very pleased with the picture quality. Last night I decided to try the 3d. As I didn't have any 3D movies I went out and bought a couple animated movies, Brave was the one we tried to watch. I could not get the picture to come in clear. I'm using my PS3 to play the disc and the video/audio is running through my Marantz SR6006 receiver over HDMI. I paired the glasses with the TV and that seemed to work just fine. Just could not get the picture dialed in. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or might not be set up correctly?

Thanks!

Well....it's hard to explain. I guess the best way to explain it is there appears to be 2 over lapping images that don't align. I've tried to use the 3D utilities in the TV menu system to make corrections but it seems that the adjustments available don't go quite far enough. Since this is my first attempt at viewing 3D at home I'm not sure I have everything set up correctly. Maybe there is just something wrong with the TV. Don't know.

Thanks for the reply!

Don't know about the cross talk. I tried a different movie tonight. Friday night, In the movie Brave the whole movie (well, what we could watch) was off. Tonight we tried to watch Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and it seemed to be sporadic between scenes. It was like the scenes that were suppose to be more intense 3D, they were more blurry, for lack of a better word. However....I noticed that when I took the glasses off the the picture looked normal...like the 3D effect wasn't working.

Did you go into the PS3's video settings and make sure it recognized your TV as 3D? You also might want to make sure you 3D settings are correct on the TV. If the L/R eye are swapped, that can cause problems.

Good suggestion as I never set up the PS3 to the new TV. However....I did that and it didn't change anything. I've been through the TV settings and swapped the L/R setting but that did not help. I'm gonna run an update on the TV and see if that has any effect.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I hope to get this squared away soon.I didn't really buy the TV for the 3D capabilities but thought it might be a nice extra.

Have you tried bypassing the receiver and connecting the PS3 directly to the TV?

Actually, that was something I was gonna try. But....this afternoon I had a breakthrough. I first updated all three pieces of equipment...the receiver, TV and PS3. Then....I put in a movie and nothing had changed. Then....I re-paired the glasses while the movie was playing. And voila....everything seemed to work. So, as I posted previously, this is my first 3D system and I really didn't know what I wa doing. Apparently you have to pair the glasses after the player recognizes and starts playing the disc. Is this pretty much SOP?

Has anyone tried out these picture settings?
http://reviews.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/samsung-lcd-tv/samsung-es7500-picturesettings.html

I can't seem to find the Smart LED and Cinema Black functions in my Picture Options. And also, if Auto Motion Plus is set to off, is there a need for the custom settings on the right?

BTW, is there a panel lottery for the UN46ES7500? If so, where on the box or the back of the TV should I be looking?

Yes and they are good. Mr. Wiley provided a lot of detail. I’ve only tweaked the sharpness to 10 and the color Tone to Warm1. I don’t like the whites in Warm2. I have the UN55ES7500.

As you can see, there are a few discrepancies in Mr. Wiley's post. I posted a comment asking him if his White Balance was set to default (all 25). Also, he doesn’t mention the xvYCC setting. I’ll inform everyone as soon as he responds.

I'm getting it soon. smile.gif

What size M8 bolts needed for wall mounting... 1.25mm x 25mm?

I have the WMB-1000B Samsung kit but it isn't compatible with 2011/2012 sets, due to the recessed vesa mounting holes being deeper this year compared to the shallower 2009/2010 sets.
And I refuse to pay $100+ for WMB-2000B. tongue.gif

THIS arrived today looks great too and the price is sweet. Should be a nice alternative and still looking Ultra slim!

Edit + Answer: M8 x 1.25mm x 25mm (x4 not included) and Hold-Spacers (x4 included w/46es7500)

Great timing! I just picked a UN46ES7500 up and am looking for mounting options and BEHOLD! Here some are! Thanks!

PSA - the price of the 46es7500 has dropped off the table since I bought mine 6 weeks ago.

I had mine calibrated by D-Nice (he was doing my Pioneer 600M the same night) and the results were impressive. Take the money you save now and don't hesitate on the calibration.

yup. $1100 with free galaxy tab 2. returned the panasonic gt50 due to overheating issue and picked this up.

what are issues i should be aware of when i first receive it?
i know to check for dead pixel and clouding. anything else i should check?
really debating if i should get this 7500 model, or wait till the new model's come out. i know this will be way cheaper, but you know how people are with the newest thing.

Actually the wmn-1000b will mostly work, it's just that it does not have the M8 x 1.25mm x 25mm screws + hold - spacers necessary to securely mount '11/'12 ES sets.
Luckily, the 7500 included the x4 hold - spacers and the M8 screws are like $0.55 ea. smile.gif

Nice looking top - fireplace mount BTW

That is a great deal!
Best Buy priced matched Amazon's $1,099 price but wouldn't give me the galaxy tab due to the MGR not being able to override Corp. Policy even though they offered the exact same bundled deal.
I had to walk it off, but an hour later to just take the 7500 home. More piece of mine in case i need to return/exchange.

Hi DancingBear,

Would you mind posting your settings for us?

Thanks in advance!
why are calibration settings done in movie mode and not other modes?

what's better to use to calibrate a new tv?:
1) bluray disc
2) dvd disc
3) colormunki

I want to calibrate my ps3, xbox 360, pc and tv sources individually.

we need more calib. settings and they should be stickied to the first page of the thread for easier access.
so mad right now, there's 4 dead pixels lumped together near the center of the screen. can't even exchange since amazon is OOS. don't wanna return since i can't get another one at this price. is there anyway to fix dead pixels?

Hi limitz,

There are several 7500 series posters that headed to that 8000 series thread due to the lack of posts/information here.

The 8000 series thread has a lot of details regarding calibrations and functionality. Some of them have done their own calibrations and they have provided a spreadsheet that includes each of their settings for everyone to view.

They are very helpful over there and I’m sure they won’t mind answering your questions on recommendations of what meters and software you need to do your own calibrations.

I agree that we need to have a unified settings spreadsheet similar to the one that was developed for the 8000 series thread.

I have posted my settings below (tweaked CNET settings/work in progress). I’m hoping DancingBear will post his settings, as I am familiar with D-Nice and his work in the past.

Hi unarmdragon,

There is nothing you can do about dead pixels. Some people have mentioned tricks, but none of them have ever worked. You'll only make the screen worse. Are you sure amazon will not return the set? They are very good regarding returns.

thats a great find..they are clearing up last years models for this years...but the only problem is that they dont have many left...if when you get them and there are issues, you might be screwed..i returned mine to amazon for a new one one day shipping...but if they are out of them, then you have to call samsung or get your money back.... its a gamble.....

on mine, the HDMI ports all died, I did not want samsung to come close to my house....lol...amazon shipped out a new one next day....

dude just get your money back. before the 30 day return window close....seriously...

.u get them cheaper now, but u ran this risk...the gamble did not pay off....

there are dead pixels policy on these tvs...its not like you can just replace the mother board in the tv....a service tech won't due jack for dead pixels....get your money back ASAP.... you will regret if if you keep and get stuck with the dead pixels....there is no fixel for that....

fi I were you, RETURN IT TO AMAZON...at least you will get a full refund...... wink.gif
