I have pretty much the same concern and was thinking of replaceing for the same TV as well. I have only a few days to make up my mind. As I said in another thread, I originally bought the 55 inch set and the picture was better than on this one and was wondering if a different set would make a differrence?
im not a big gamer but I do play some on my PS3. Uncharted3 it 2D and 3D is great. Mass Effect3 is great, response time is quick and their is a dedicated game mode if you want to use it.
I have the 60 inch model and Imnot a gamer but my grandson uses an Xbox 360 on it and even the #D conversion works really well, You would think You bought a 3 D game when using it. reading the others in this thread, You mention clouding and other issues, what exactly is that? I have noticed a couple of things, an almost flashlight type effect in some scenes and the PQ on my 60 not quite s good as it was on the 55 inch I bought first. I am almost at the 30 day period and was thinking of returning for a replacement but want to make sue I am not doing it for nothing. should the picture on the 60 be as good as the 55 (it is 20% more area). I would just guess that the bigger the screen the more degradation of the picture, buty maybe not.
Anyone notice that the default sharpness setting (50) is wayyyyyyy to high.. i have to lower it down to 20 or lower for a normal looking picture. my only other complaint is that game mode is a choir to get to having to scroll though a few different menus. My 55 inch set has minimal backlight bleed. Oh, and i have to constantly reset the audio sync for lipsync to be corrrect when changing picture modes ect.(output to soundbar) Other then that i'm very happy.. these bugs can be fixed with firmware updates. i returned my lg 55LM7600 for this set which had poor blacks and terrible clouding/ bleeding. Oh and some apps like vudu do not let you change pictures settings while watching 3d content Edited by rckrz6 - 6/20/12 at 7:45am
60ms? In game mode? That sounds pretty bad doesn't it? According to all the reviews of the ES8000 I've been reading the lag in game mode is around 32ms. Why are you getting double that? I would assume the 7500 and the 8000 would have the same lag in game mode since they're practically the same set other than local dimming ultimate on the 8000.

Light leaking around the sides or corners is called flashlighting. Blotches of light around the rest of the screen are called clouding. Both of these are part of the drawback of LED side-lit technology. All sets seem to have them to some degree, though it can vary greatly, from almost non-existent to very very noticeable. Turning down the backlight can make a pretty big difference and improve the situation.
Hey guys, have a strange question that only someone with this set could answer. What is the depth of the set at just the left and right edges? Does it get deeper as it goes lower on the left and right edges (ie for speakers)?
This question is for the 55" model. Also from the front of the screen, how far to the legs stick out? Just looking for a depth measurement.
I have this tv showing up on Sunday and need to do a little prep work to my entertainment area.
i did not test the delay, im only stating what the default value is for the sound.. My guess would be alot less then 60 ms as i notice no delay at all.
Still hoping that someone with this TV can give me a had. I am looking to get a depth measurement on the left and right edges of the TV. I also want to know how far forward the stand sticks out from the front of the tv. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have been interested in HDTV for a long time and own 3 sets (2 Samsung, 1 Sony). After seeing the 7500 in the store a couple of times recently, I would say that this one provides the best 2D picture that I have seen.

The TV is about 7/8 of an inch thick
Stand comes out about 3.5 inches from screen
Back of stand to front of screen is about 6.5 inches

Has anyone had this tv calibrated properly or have correct 10p white balances and values? I had this tv pretty dialed in, but the recent update wiped out all color settings. Thx Samsung! Anyway I find it hard to believe we all spent $3k on a tv yet no one has had it correctly calibrated. These tvs at best buy are set up by professionals with calibration tools and i think we'd all like to see those setting values. On another note, the most current update did seem to do something to the overall color, an actual improvement I think from stock values, but at the cost of my own settings. Anyway if anyone has detailed settings for this tv, please share. I know this tv has the potential to be even better with professional calibration so if you have please share.
Hm. The es8000 thread has a ton of activity, but I'm still waiting for owners of this particular TV to pipe in with their preferred settings. The ones that have been posted for use on the 8000 don't look very good to my eye...
I too found the thread of the 8000 which has quite a bit of info. I did find the 8000 settings to be not quite "on" for the 7500 but after some modifications and tweaking mine looks really really good. I'd suggest taking a little time to set it up via the 8000's 10p wb as well as other settings and then modify from there. I found that with some tweaks here in there, that it's a great starting point in which to tweak to personal preference.
All in all this is the best TV I've seen on the market for under $4000. Extremely happy and three months later I still look at it in amazement and I've got my settings now so dialed in that I don't even mess with it anymore and friends and family come over and are just blown away and think that it's in 3-D half the time. Very happy, but can always be happier!
ScubaSteve13,
Thanks for posting! Can you post your tweaked settings for me to use those as a starting point? (I'm sure that others would benefit from them too!)

Hey Snoopy10, I just got this TV two weeks ago and have been using it for about 10 days now. I have an Xbox 360 that I use for gaming and Netflix/HBOGo. I found that using Game Mode on the TV works well for my Xbox games. I've only played a little bit over the last five days though, mostly Red Dead Redemption. The PQ was pretty rough if I didn't have Game Mode on, there was a good bit of blurring on the map and textures of the ground as I rode on the horse. Switched over to Game Mode and the quality was much improved.
I'm putting my Xbox through a Pioneer VSX-1020-K as well, FWIW.
I haven't done any calibration of the screen settings or anything like that, yet. I hope to over the next few weeks.
