And should I keep the sharpness level at 0
post #872 of 1031
Resolved the issue I was having with the ps3 snow. Need to go into settings on the ps3 then video and turn off deep color output. Running fine now.

That's disappointing, but thank you for the response.

Whatever you like between 0 and 50(75?) is fine honestly, it's a very mild setting.

I use around 25 for TV and 50 for games.
I've been running it at 50, I've got some IR from battlefield 3 that just won't go away hard to explane ill take a picture tomorrow and post, I didn't play any ps3 on it for 2 months just watched tv and its still there, you can't see it when watching tv but you can when the scrolling is on, weird, I'm scared to play on the 60 don't want this to happen to it I would freak out... I've always run the orbitor from day one

Ahhrrr.

After having this unit for just over 2 months, it already has to be repaired. Shut off and wont turn on and got the blinking red light of death. Called Panasonic who has really BS customer service. Finally got fed up and called best buy and they are sending out a service guy.

Not Happy!

Is Panasonic going to cover the BB service?

Actually got the best buy plan for 2 years. So it's covered just weird. Unit doesn't really get used that much.

IR is not really related to sharpness. It could be an issue if we were talking about the extremely overblown sharpness of LED's, but that's not the case.

Hey guys quick question about anikun07 settings. When you do the calibration on the system menu does it affect both HDMI1 and 2 or do i have to do it for each input?

It does't matter which input, HDMI 1,2, Component...should effect all as long as it's set to cinema and warm settings.

Along with Custom settings on normal right? or are you allowed to only do one setting at a time?

Service menu calibration is on a color temperature basis, so if you want two different cals for different inputs you have to use to different color temps, thus the warm/cinema and custom/normal pairings

hmmm I think I know what you mean i'm just confused because it seems like when i do the calibration for warm colors on Cinema it changes all the calibrations for Custom on Normal temp.

I don't why it's there, I turned the deep color option off like someone else did and the snow is gone and games run much smoother, I'm thinking the snow was sticking to the static images and causing the IR ?

Hopefully you get a competent calibrator unfortunately mileage varies with GS
post #891 of 1031

Its a 50 50 outcome at best. I know one real professional calibrator that offers the same service as gs for a reduced price.

I imagine it's free, I mean that's the only reason anyone should get a calibration done by GS.

Still costs you reward points you could use on something else nothing is free, some folks actually pay for GS cals believe it or not

I don't think so. It's a free one time service for Premier Silver members.

are anikun07 setting's made just for movies? Only asking because Cartoon looks better on Game/Vivd settings IMO instead of his unless I didn't put them in correctly

It's not that they are "just for movies", but of course something like cartoons is going to look better with brighter, more exaggerated colors. So then that's up to you whether you want to use the correct settings for cartoons, games, etc. or if you would prefer something a bit more extravagant.

Yeah true thanks for the quick response I just get paranoid that i'm not getting the best out of my tv so i'm just making sure. One thing I noticed is that it definitely fixed Inception on blu ray for me, for some reason the movie looked really dark prior to changing everything.
