tigerdirect. Last week, they had a special under $1800 for the LM8600.

I did this yesterday. I canceled the order for the 8600 to place an order of the 65LM6200. Then later I changed my mind and canceled the 65 and placed the order for the 8600 once again for a higher price then the original. buydig still had it at $1849 so amazon priced matched it again.

Oh jesus mine comes tomorrow, I am hoping i don't have any screen issues like other people are...For the price shipped seems to good to be true how could it be cheaper then the 7600 so weird...Guess i'll report back tomorrow fingers crossed

Let us know if everything is ok. I am planning on calling Amazon and exchange the TV if no one else is having the issue. Else I might just return it and get my money back. This sucks.

Same thing happened to me. I returned the defective TV and they are shipping new one on the same date (June 11- June 26th), however there are 2 left in stock right now and ships from Amazon. Does not make sense why they wont ship that to us.

jajaj i saw that and my TV is still due for the same shipping date and I purchased it a week ago

I called Amazon and asked this question. Today they had 3 in stock. I ask why do we have to wait until June 11th when you have them in stock. She had to get a special rep to explain this. He simple said that they ship from different warehouses and it can take longer. He also said when they do a replacement order you have to get back in line just like you placed a new order. They don't move you up. So I said that should mean that anybody who orders today, with you showing them in stock, will be behind us. He said yes. So I assume anyone ordering today will have at least the June 11th date or later.

I must say so far the TV looks great...One problem is settings wont save, and hard drive isn't working on the tv but my thumb drive will? And the set i got was built in March

remember the settings are specific to every type of input (too bad the manual doesnt explain this)

so if you change inputs or content source(3d,streaming,etc) the settings will reset for the new scenario.

but if you set them for HDMI/TV for example, they should remain when you revisit this input.

and what do you mean hard drive on the TV? am I missing something?


any flashlighting?

I have some white coming from the corner only notice it on no signal but backlight is 100 at that point of time...Other than that i am happy can't notice anything else but really only had it on for maybe 2 hours tonight..But my external hard drive that is 3tb will not work at all off the tv period, And works perfect off my WD LIVE...

I jumped on the deal that Amazon had and ordered the 55 and also have the June ship date. Hopefully everything turns out ok. I've researched heavily the past few weeks and it seems this clouding issue exists with any of these types of tvs regardless of brand.

The pricing on Amazon has been crazy on this TV. I ordered mine a few weeks ago and today the price is $1000. more than I paid. For some reason the price seems to change daily.

I don't want to break the rules. I encourage anyone interested in this set or any of the other new 2012 LG Cinema models to google them. I looked over the course of a week and found various postings for various models with heavy discounts from various retailers. I originally intended to get a much lower model number and found the 8600 for sub 1.8. The retailer I used is back up to 2.5 this week. Mine is arriving next week. I am sure others know more than I do although it appears that there have been some very heavy discounts to be had on 2012 models. Hope that helps. I even went to BB to buy the 7600 and luckily it was out of stock (would have paid a lot more for the lower model). That prompted my search.

my shipping date changed from between June 12 to May 23rd to May 28

Noticed some flashlighting during a 3D Blu-ray that is far less noticeable than when watching HD cable. Got rid of almost all of it by loosening and tightening the back panel screws, but there is a small amount between the screw points that won't go away.

got my 8600 today and so far everything is great. much less flashlighting than the 7600 I returned. 1 light cloud in upper right that disappears once input is selected. none on black bars or dark screens either.

what has been a huge improvement is the addition of that 2nd CPU. I couldnt realistically stream music from my 7600, just kept clocking. this baby is quick.
and youtube/internet/netflix is snappy.
It may be just me but the cloudy/smudgy skin tones in the 7600 dont appear so far in the 2 hours i spent watching the late night talk shows. The faces are crisp and detailed.

Id like to get rid of the flashlighitng on the splash /no input screen but local dimming is set to off and disabled as a choice. I dont remember that. Anyone know a way to enable it?

The only negative Ive seen so far is that where the remote cursor is (against a black screen) a see visible column of white cloudiness that moves with the cursor.
very very picky but just curious if anyone else sees that. wasnt on eithe rof my (2) 7600s

Cosmetically, I noticed a black band around the set where there was a "brushed aluminum" one for the 7600. The 8600 has the dark brushed aluminum faceplate. It also has an LG Logo light and a clear glass footing strip(where standby light sits in) that wasnt on the 7600.

What state are you in. Amazon did tell me that sometimes their shipping scheduled is based on the closest distribution center from your location. My re-order was placed May 16th as the original unit was broken when it came in. My ship date is still June 11-June 26.

Really loving this tv the more i use it, The best part is the wife is saying she loves the picture which is odd...Only really thing i hate is the remote and screen glare so i put up window tint my Comcast remote works like crap anyone have a fix on that? Also if anybody knows how to get my external HD to work would be great tv doesn't like it says failed


Edit : Well guess my problem is it will not detect hard drive over 2tb and mine is a 3tb lame

I'm in California. It was first scheduled from June 12th to the the 28th. Then It changed to May 23 to May 27. I also changed the shipping address from California to Arizona. But I changed that after my Delivery changed.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SET! It's been a total touchdown. Deep blacks, amazing upconversion and sweet motion enhancement without the SOE. No flashlighting for me.

Playing PS3 with HDMI 2 set to Game mode, and there is NO lag.

I highly recommend this set to anyone needing a new LCD.

I have the same issue moving cursor around on totally black screen there's a white band of cloudiness vertically everywhere the cursor moves. I don't remember this on my 7600 either.

Also got my first random reboot on my 8600 watching TV input. Cable DTV Channel 4-1 NBC it was a quick reboot saw LG splash logo like when you first turn on TV then went back to broadcast TV right away.

Not sure if I need to contact LG on this issue or Plex. Maybe LG so they can update LG Medialink Plex client. I'm running latest Plex Server v0.9.6.2 for my Readynas Ultra 2 Plus Intel NAS Atom Dual core. I'm only using NAS for direct play streaming no transcoding.

Some MKV movies with DTS, audio & video is out of sync it gradually gets worse if you leave it playing for a while. If I stop and start MKV it will be in sync but in a matter of seconds it will go out of sync?

Tried it from my Windows Plex server same issue.

It's unfortunate, but the locals in my area will not have these on display until the middle of summer.
I guess it was a gamble, but the features and price drove me to do it. I just got the word that I will receive mine on Monday. I will get some real-life pics posted.

looking for a little help here please....

just got one of these and the image seems a little choppy. my previous tv was HD rear projection with s video cabling, with HDMI this is obviously much clearer. my problem s that the movement of people looks "jerky" or "sped up". if this is normal then I'll get used to it, but I suspect not as the Hz setting in the status banner at the top says 60 hz for cable, blu ray and xbox. now this tv is a 240 hz refresh rate so shouldn't that be higher?

how do i change it? I tried messing with the "trumotion" settings but never really saw any difference.

So far I have to agree. My wife and I have noticed a crisper, more vivid picture than on either of the 7600s we tried.(same settings). detailed skin tones, deeper blacks(and dimming only set to low or med) and an occasional almost undetectable tiny faint cloud in the upper right between inputs switches. Watched our kids Legends of the Guardians and G-Force(excellent HD source to tweak settings/check flashlights because of the dark scenes contrast with the bright/colored hamsters)

I cant explain it as I thought the 7600 and 8600 had same panels. Does the dual core assist with dimming processing? Either we got lucky on tv roulette or the implementation of the 8600 is noticably better than the 7600.
