The 60hz you see in the corner is merely the set telling you the native refresh rate for the content you are viewing, which, in most cases will be 60hz. It is a 240hz set, and so it's constantly running at 240. You can toy with both the trumotion settings and the other advanced options that are available. Also, if you switch the set to "Game" mode, then most of the videoprocessing is removed, which will give you a truer, less jerky picture. I think what you're referring to is artifacts that are the result of the processing/tru motion settings.
