On another note, for those that haven't seen it and are even interested, the first Rhody (Terrence Howard) seems to be a little bitter...jealous... about Iron Man.

This guy is very talented but I'm not entirely sure he's quite in the same class as Don Cheadle. That being said, if Rhody is good enough for Cheadle....well, you get the idea. Sometimes you just gotta put on your big boy pants and say "I effed this one up!"

I prefer Don Cheadle.

This movie can't be here fast enough.

BTW, is this story supposed to be pre or post Avengers?

Pretty sure it's post Avengers. He says at the beginning of the first trailer about (paraphrasing) "...after what happened in New York...".

So I'm guessing after Avengers after hearing that.

Yes - according to a short description I read (I think on iTunes for the trailer), that the Tony's insomnia mentioned in one of the trailers is related to some sort of post-AVENGERS PTSD or something.

Interesting...

It's definitely post-Avengers. I know this because I am reading the Prelude to IM3 comic.

Maybe Don Cheadle is just a better actor. And by maybe I mean definitely.

However, DC doesn't remind me of any military guy I ever met....

Well as a vet myself I was just wondering what it was about DC's performance that you found rang untrue? I mean RDJ didn't act like any rich guy I've ever met. None that I can remember ever cracked wise and fought bad guys while clad in futuristic armour.

He was too smooth, too laid back IMO.
OTOH, he is a counterweight to RDJ's hyper-intense Tony Stark.

I am not too fond of Terence Howard and his style of "slooow, broooding acting with irritatingly deliberate dialog delivery" - from the Charles Dutton school of aaactinggg. Don Cheadle is one of my favorite actors, so I am happy he took up the role of Rhody.

I don't necessarily dislike Terence Howard, but Don Cheadle is in a whole other class.

LMAO!

IMO, Terrence Howard is quite a good actor and, styles aside, every bit the talent that Cheadle is and is capable of carrying a movie. However.....the big, dare I say HUGE, difference between the two and subject to the link in my original post, Howard tends to play to the level of the project whereas Cheadle is at the very least consistent with his work IMO. Give both of these guys a mediocre script, role or even cast and Cheadle will produce consistent results thereby his talent elevating the project. There is only a select list of actors that can do this.

Well Don Cheadle is one of those guys who even if he's in something I wouldn't ordinarily be interested in, I'll check it out just because he's in it. To me, he's got a compelling screen presence, and brings credibility to a project. I've got the same weakness with Bill Murray. I don't know how many stinkers I've endured just because he's in it, lol.
