Hey everyone. I've been rather out of the loop on AV gear for the past couple years. My wife and I recently moved to a much newer house, though, and our finished basement has a nice area to set up a home theater.
It's a fairly wide open space, with very little window exposure. Most of our viewing down in the basement would probably be in the evening anyway. I currently have a Pioneer Kuro (non-Elite) 50" in our living room, so that is the type of video quality I'm looking for, I guess. It seems like plasmas still give the best "bang for the buck" as far as video quality, but I may be wrong on this.
The primary seating area will be about 12 feet back from the wall where I would plan to mount this TV (though it might go on a stand to start). I'm thinking I'd want at least a 60" TV then?
Can someone point me to some models to look at, or give some general recommendations? I'd like to make this purchase in the next month or two, so I need to start doing some research. Thanks!
Edit: I realize I forgot to state a budget. I'd like to keep it to $2000 or less, but can stretch this if needed.
